Have a great year!

Discipline
The Suncrest Elementary and Alpine District discipline policies are followed. Discipline will be handled by the teacher. Observance of common rules of courtesy for everyone is expected from everyone. This year we will focus on our school-wide citizenship program which promotes positive student behavior. If a student is having difficulty following school or classroom rules the following procedure will take place: 1st offense Warning 2nd offense Writing a Refocus Sentence 3rd offense Conference with parent and administration **Severe offense will receive automatic conference with administration

Homework Please check your students homework folder nightly. Any daily assignment not finished in class is considered homework. Aside from unfinished class work, a homework packet will be sent home every Monday (or Tuesday if Monday is a holiday). The packet will include a reading log, spelling list and math or language practice sheets. The homework packet is due the following Friday. I realize that families are busy and that family and playtime are important. Please consider a homework hour each evening. I do expect your child to read each day (Mon. Fri) for at least 20 minutes. Your students reading will improve when he/she reads on a consistent basis. Please help your student get in a nightly habit to stay caught up on homework. Attendance and Tardies We follow the Suncrest and Alpine School District attendance/tardy policy. A written excuse or a phone call to the school is required to excuse all tardies and absences. After three unexcused absences, the school will make an Earnest and Persistent effort to contact the home and encourage the student return to school. Attendance in school is very important.
