Job Description

Position Title: Reports to: Department: Date Revised: FLSA Status: Summary: This individual is primarily responsible for the routine and extensive preventive maintenance, repair, modifications and installation of equipment utilized in various processes of the business. In addition, this individual has the same responsibilities for the facilities, including air and water systems, structures, heating and cooling systems, and boilers. There will also be participation in grounds keeping activities. Most of the work, unless unexpected or emergency repairs, is managed via a work order system. Occasional travel may be required and overtime (planned and unplanned) can be expected. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Installs, repairs, and maintains critical equipment to help ensure Companys ability to produce, test, and ship product. Works with outside subcontractors and/or vendors as necessary. Performs preventive maintenance procedures on mechanical equipment on a scheduled basis, including maintaining records of the maintenance and/or repairs. Installation, repair and maintenance of plumbing for domestic, deionized and non-potable water systems. This includes the waste and storm drainage systems. Installation, repair and maintenance of electrical equipment, controls, devices and wiring. Performs minor and major repair of all buildings and equipment within established timeframes as determined by the Manager. Repairs, replaces broken windows, doors and door locks immediately in an effort to maintain facility security. Maintains detailed and accurate records in accordance with USDA regulations. Completes daily, weekly, and monthly checklists on building equipment monitoring. Participates and assists with construction projects and all aspects of renovation/remodelling activities including carpentry, drywall, plaster and painting. Responds to emergency maintenance issues by being on-call on a rotating basis. Response time must be within a maximum of one hour of the initial call. Responds to calls from the Security Provider based on equipment alarms at all times. Maintains parking lots, walkways, and steps for safety. This includes, but is not limited to, snow removal, salting, sanding, and general repair Obtains estimates for supplies, repair parts, etc. and orders as needed utilizing the internal requisition, and purchase order system. Assists in moving furniture, equipment, etc. as requested for office relocations. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Must possess a minimum of a high school diploma and have five (5) years experience and working knowledge in a minimum of one of the following areas: Plumbing, Heating, and/or Electrical. Experience in HVAC preferred. Must maintain a valid Maine high-pressure boiler operators license and a valid drivers license. Must have computer skills and be adept in Excel and Word. Experience with data tracking software for equipment is desirable. Individual must possess professional verbal and written communications skills. Must be able to work as part of a team. Must be able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to obtain and maintain FBI background check clearance for select agent(s).
