E-Broker Web Trading Platform


• Maintained corporation’s E-Broker Web Trading Platform in J2EE architecture which
connected directly with Hong Kong Stock Exchange; Supported over 30,000 clients and
keeps track of all the transactions of their US$60 million capitals against HKSE
• Implemented and enhanced varies trading features through EJB, JDBC, Servlet and JSP
technologies such as: real-time quotes, delayed quotes, quotes meter, personal portfolios,
smart symbol search, price alert, trading ticket, market order, order history, real-time order
status, account summary and power charts
• Received and analyzed user requirements on a weekly basis; Create project description
and resource estimation for each task; Illustrated UML class diagrams and UseCase
sequence charts; Lead the development and submit deliverables on a tight schedule
• Created numbers of major stored procedures in backend Sybase Adaptive Server; Review
the performance issue and revise the SQL code for the executing efficiency

Order Routing Gateway


• Established a Sybase EA Server on Solaris platform that was used to communicate with
external hosts and receive transaction orders in real-time
• Immensely extended legacy E-Broker online trading system by granting it almost unlimited
possibilities to co-operate with any potential business partners without the need of
modifying any existing code
• Defined a unified XML format according to SOAP standards to handle all the messages
exchanging between ORG server and outside business partner’s application servers
• On the back end, seamlessly integrated ORG into legacy E-Broker online trading platform
via Java Servlet, EJB and RMI technologies
• Developed a multi-threaded listening server which was used to replace main ORG server
during the emergency or system reboot/maintenance; To avoid cost-inflation, this standby
server was programmed in Visual C++ with WinSock API, and reside on a NT machine

• Co-operated with a local wireless service provider to harness their mobile subscribers with
a powerful financial solution; A direct application and demonstration of ORG service
• Saved a great amount of energy and resources by eliminating the need of establishing

• Developed a portable data wrapper for business partner to cipher and decipher simple
XML messages; Binaries that suit different platforms were compiled under Solaris C
compiler, GNU C Compiler and Visual C++ environment
• Proved project feasibility and prototyped the system on Nokia’s Simulator Suite
