Well, in this presentation my topic is about London.

London is the capital and largest urban area of England and the United
Kingdom. London has an official population of 7,512,400
It is an international transport hub, with five major international airports serving
the area and a large port. It serves as the largest aviation hub in the world, and
the multi-terminal Heathrow Airport carries more international passengers than
any other airport in the world.

Now I will talk to you about some places to London.

First I will talk about the Buckingham palace, in London, is the official home of
Queen Elizabeth II and her family. The place is almost 300 years old. It has got
775 rooms. It has got a police station, a hospital, a post office, a cinema and a
swimming pool. There is also a big lake by the palace and there are beautiful
gardens.
Buckingham Palace is a major tourist attraction. The palace contains 77,000
square metres of floor space (828,818 square feet).

Westminster Abbey, is a large, an a Gothic church, (it served as a cathedral


from 1546 - 1556), in Westminster, London, just to the west of the Palace of
Westminster. It is the traditional place of coronation and burial site for English
monarchs.

St Paul’s Cathedral: in London, was build between 1676 and 1710 for the
architect whose is called Christopher Wren this do the rebuilding, because there
are medieval ruins for the fire. This cathedral is the second largest church in the
world after St Peter’s in Rome.

Tower of London is a historic monument in central of London, on the north


bank of the River Thames. The tower's primary function was a fortress, a royal
palace, and a prison. It has also served as a place of execution and torture, an
armoury, a treasury, a zoo, the Royal Mint, a public records office, an
observatory, and since 1303, the home of the Crown Jewels of the United
Kingdom.

Big Ben: (clock tower): The Clock Tower is the world's largest four-faced,
chiming clock. The bell is better known by the nickname Big Ben, The name
Big Ben was given to a 15 tonne. The Clock Tower is a focus of New Year
celebrations in the United Kingdom, with radio and TV stations tuning to its
chimes to welcome the start of the year. An image of the clock tower was also
used as the logo for London Films.

The British museum: in London, England is a museum of human history and


culture. Its collections, which number more than 13 million objects. The
museum first opened to the public on 15 January 1759 in Montagu House in
Bloomsbury.
The national gallery: is one of the most important art galleries in the world,
was founded on 2 April 1824 when the Prime Minister Lord Liverpool bought
thirty-eight paintings for the nation from the Angerstein collection. The gallery
was opened to the public in May of the 1824.

Oxford Street is a major thoroughfare (vía pública) in London, England in the


City of Westminster. With over 300 shops. It is the major shopping street in
central London, though not the most expensive or fashionable.

The London Eye, also known as the Millennium Wheel: It was opened by the
Prime Minister, Tony Blair on December 31, 1999, although it was not
opened to the public until March 2000 because of technical problems. The
London Eye stands 135 metres high. It is exciting to go on the wheel al night
and to see London alter dark. The London eye has got 32 boxes.
