Advent and Christmas 2011

The season of Advent is a special time of grace when we are called to quiet down and prepare our hearts and lives to receive the Lord Jesus. How can we quiet down at a time of the year when things seem to get even busier around us?
Prepare Your Heart to Receive

We have to be deliberate about it and not simply wait for the quiet to come to us, otherwise it will never arrive. Please make use of the opportunities for prayer and giving listed below as a way of making the most of this special season of preparation!
we have the opportunity to pray before Jesus truly present in the Blessed Sacrament during Eucharistic Adoration. In the midst of the holiday rush, stop into the church, slow down, and spend some quiet time with Jesus. This is a great chance to open your heart to Him and speak with Him in prayer. Feast of the Immaculate Conception Thursday, December 8 A Holy Day of Obligation The Mass schedule is as follows: Wednesday, Dec. 7: Vigil Mass at 7:00pm Thursday, Dec. 8: 6:30am, 9:30am (with school children), 7:00pm The Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception is celebrated each year on December 8 and is a holy day of obligation. This beautiful feast celebrates one of Gods greatest works: the conception of Mary without sin in the womb of her mother, St. Ann. In preserving Mary from the stain of sin, the Lord prepared her for the special role she would have as the mother of Christ our Savior. This feast is a wonderful prelude to our Christmas celebrations. Advent Evenings of Reflection at St. Pauls Wednesdays Dec. 7, 14 and 21 at 7pm Join Fr. Matt Buening, Fr. Warren Tanghe and Fr. Erik Arnold as they lead a series of reflections for the parishes of our cluster. This years theme looks at three great moments in the life of Mary: the Annunciation, the Visitation and the Nativity. Join us as we learn from Mary and prepare for Christmas. All are welcome!
