A vile scroll of vice & ire

ADULTS only! As
the file mentions
sex, violence,
drugs, dark rituals
and other vile
FICTION!

It hurt so much! Nearly like punishment by the light. I had that list of how
much evil any decent evil has to achieve in D&D and once more I crafted my
character concept and contemplated how competent I could attempt the file.

I am never superb or epic, as even my before-write research is seriously lim-

ited by poverty and sickness. I learned much anyway. I know how I could do
the classic adventure outlook in more than one line of text per page by two dif-
ferent techniques, as example. It makes no sense in electronic files to me.

Linux was much help to me from the start. Until now which is March 2008 I
still use two free versions, namely Mandriva 2006 & Ubuntu 7.1. They lack
drivers and codecs, which I need for the muse and henceforth purchasing a
complete version is planned.
It will allow me more quality for audio files in example. If I would express it
in D&D terms, than all my petty efforts were needing a concentration check
of variable DC before any attempt, will save and fortitude save to endure my
sickness instead of being overcome by it and last but not least the perform skill-
roll which any art simply needs.

I crafted my own evil faith, from the definition of the goddess, to aspects of
believe, feats and codex. Including military units with Birthright compatible
stats. It is freely available on the web and it's title is: “The grunting goddess –
Muggdoosh”. I wrote “Vagabonds of Darkness” to prepare future efforts, al-
lowing the idea of the official “Warrior of Darkness” as defined in the official
“Book of vile darkness” to be available to other character classes and in less
violent prone flavor. Both were equivalent to mediocre accomplishments by
the list of evil deeds in the official “Heroes of Horror”.

I added some audio files which are available online, too. Read last page?

I was a bit horrified to notice, that the often perceived as dumb and stupid and
weird way of my word selection is quite “Shakespearean” by tradition, as I
didn't know until yesterday. We had “Macbeth” in school, I read “A Winter's
Tale” and looked into “The rape of Lucretia” in recent years. Some more, like
the movie or film “Much ado about nothing”?

Readers, there is a movie or film or documentary named “Al Pacino's Look-

ing for Richard”. If you have problems with Shakespeare, see that movie. It
has boring moments but explains a lot! Especially how to approach the old
English and his cryptic or weird words which were often exceptionally well-
chosen. Write one villain or culprit as detailed and authentic as he did, before
you consider him just an over-privileged British fop?
George R.R. Martin: The author of “A song of ice & fire”. Years before
reading him I played a module for Neverwinter Nights 1 named “A song of
ice and fire – the nights watch”. I remember the clashing with pagans and the
hunt after villains with a key-scene. The villains had entered a farm, had
beaten the husband (a hard working peasant) to near-death. To more com-
fortably rape his pregnant wife they had cut the child out of her belly. Raping
her while she bled to death. I never before had sympathy with any paladin and
never before new that most evil is done by humans.

Villainy & depravity

A topic in fiction. Fascinating and inspiring to some, repulsing and disgusting

to others. If any story only lives due the interdependence of heroes and their
villains, then they are even more crucial. Try yourself out on a classic?
Write your Dracula as vampire bloodline founder ancient vampire and your
van Helsing as... now what? A paladin for martial flair? A favored soul?
Or perhaps a cleric-rogue mix with careful feat selection?

Now either let's take Birthright (see www.birthright.net ) or simply the

leadership feat into the equation we imagine. How would managing holdings
and actually leading a great number of vampire spawn, ghouls, cultists,
skeletons and zombies as their higher-ups (Whoa Bhodaks can be frightening)
on Dracula side or pious and less pious mortal cohorts on van Helsings side
influence the story?

Quoting a tarot card: “Those who serve the devil as those who fight it are
both equally trapped in it's merciless grasp!”

Concepts. Merging or the synergy of Ravenloft and Birthright could be more

than the dumb stereotype suggests, too.
To continue our example a Dracula as whatever class-mix with greater
Azrai bloodline and within his domain (NOT cleric domain definition)
supported by superior evil, near immortality even if killed again and oh the
little gimmick that his will and nature of self simply form the surroundings?
That physical laws adapt to his preferences... tough stuff, much opportunity.

Or the truth reversed? Dracula as betrayed by the church and inspired by

wrath finds that god is the enemy to all who have fun on earth turns to what
D&D could call vile dark means to make a stand and recover his
reincarnating, which hints at druidism, true love? The hunter van Helsing
now a mad or vicious freak who kills for money and career. The envious mob
turning on a couple in love.

Or war of the roses. Dracula and van Helsing both from competing noble
houses, stylish words, romance and intrigue with loads of propaganda declared
bard tale or historical facts. Another option, even at low or non-magic
campaign, which even becomes more possible with leadership feat and
holdings, battle-field magic and reign of provinces.

Demons & Dread

There are thousands of pagan tales in which demons were simply the blessed
ones of the old faith. Not the enemy as such, but the competition of a corrupted
church? In Birthright it makes even more sense, as civilization destroys the
nature we need to fuel magic which could fight back the shadow.

I do not know the proper title but it would mean “Pact of the Druids” if
translated back from German. It was a film or movie, a better one by story
and with sexy women making it all look worthy. Oh, nowadays this makes me
a sexist pig? MY apologies, if stating facts & my opinion makes certain females
feel bothered or harassed.
Another one would be “Reeker”. Looked like a splatter movie but turned out
to be closer to the final destination trilogy.

Both! In a less happy mood I once wrote about a bleak universe which only
exists to eradicate all of us, no exception. No let's say demons rattle the cage
with their... can I dare to write pranks? Cruel and often final pseudo-
pranks!

Or that all divine and arcane is a lie and that only infernal or vile dark exists?
Demons and devils by D&D definition fight it out in disguise, or simply
competing on their own terms which are unknown to us, the pseudo-heroes
and truth be spoken their hapless victims. Oops! The druidism wasn't
mentioned, could it be the only chance of freedom and salvation in such
constellation? Or just a hippy demon struggling versus the hippy devil and we
fools don't realize it?

● D&D defined demons as always chaotic in nature while devils are

always lawful in the sense of rules, regulations or dogma. Needless to
say, both sides are evil and antagonistic to life and mortals.
● In Birthright, where the root of all alien evil is Azrai this could make
them unwitting pawns of Azrai, bound by his blood or else, too! Azrai
was a deity who invaded the world of Birthright from the
Shadowworld, a dark and weird counter-plane or planet.

A writing is always a bit dependent on who reads it. This petty file attempts to
make people imagine their own definition and application of “suiting” or not.
Inspiration?
In the fangs of Demogorgon

Just reading the description, goals and conflicts of that demon as defined by
D&D and then looking at the heraldic symbols of our city (the picture with
crown and two shields included above). Spooky. Is that eagle not two-
headed? And didn't plenty of people define as bestial, animal and savage what
others defined as demonic? Just a thought, but certain moments of German
history and the “two souls in one body” which one of the classic authors of
literature wrote about may SEEM to show a minor similarity. I would
have preferred Graz'zt, if forced to decide.
Problems reported

I made LINKS available in plenty of my files. For some people they don't
work and for one woman they were reported as virus. THEY ARE NOT A
VIRUS.

This time I give you words to put into the search engine, like
www.google.com offers. Type the words into the field next to the button
named search then click it. Usually my family name with any title of my
files should work, example: Pietroschek Hexenwahn or Pietroschek
Adept or Pietroschek Laughcraft should find the file somewhere.

1. Jörg Schwab offers www.e-stories.org/ but if the link fails you, type:
Jörg Schwab e-stories into the search parameter and click search
button?
2. At www.scribd.com I am with less files. The search field is in the
upper right part on date of writing this. Type “Pauper” into it then
click search button, then look at the screen and click “People or
Persons” as the default shows the name found in files not members.
Pauper is my nick-name there and should show a photo of me and a
list of all my files available?
3. At www.esnips.com I have most but not all D&D stuff in the folder
named Pietroschek's other stuff. It's straight link would be
www.esnips.com/web/pietroscheksotherstuff perhaps with a /
behind the last f of stuff. On the main page, upper right part on
date of writing is the search. Type Pietroschek or in example
Hexenwahn and you should find some of my stuff. Below the photo
is either my name or nick or “about me”, clicking that should bring
you to the overview page which shows all my folders available.
