Our students come at the age of 7 and graduate at the age of 14. In our education system students enter the high school entrance exam and 70% of our students succeed it. The other students go to technical and general high schools. From 2011 all the high schools will get students after an entrance exam.

Samsun is situated between two river deltas which jut into the Black Sea. To Samsun's west, lies the Kzlrmak ("Red River", the Halys of antiquity), one of the longest rivers in Anatolia and its fertile delta.

To the east, lie the Yeilrmak ("Green River", the Iris of antiquity) and its delta. Also our city has rich thermal energy sources that have very useful appliance in many areas. Samsun is surrounded by rich fauna and flora sources so in these areas nature walks, canoe, hunting and fishing activities are practiced.

The subjects of our Project are taught in our schools curriculum especially under the heading of environmental education. Our schools location is near to Ondokuz Mayis University one of the best seven universities in our country, so we have the chance to provide cooperation in many areas.

Most of our students come from villages around Samsun and we can consider these villages as disadvantaged areas. Our school hasnt participated an international project before but we know that we have the ability to contribute to our Project in many ways.

Samsun has been a trade and culture center, and a harbor city since the ancient times. It has stayed as the same until this day. It still has this feature, today. It is a window of Central Anatolia that opens to Black Sea. It has highway, airway, seaway, and railway communications.

Samsun is a very old residential area for the history of humanity. With the inclusion of todays city center, people have been living in Kzlrmak valley, Kavak, Tekkeky, and aramba savannas. In the middle stone age ( B.C 10000 - 5000) it is known that people were living in the asylums in Tekkeky and they are the primal residents of the region. Again, in Neolithic and Calcolithic periods, it is known from the excavations that people were living in Dndar Tepe, Kalenderolu, and Bafra kiztepe.

The primary sector which constitutes the economic structure of Samsun is agricultural sector. In company with agriculture, animal husbandry and tourism have an important place in economic structure. Agricultural products which have a great influence on the city economics are wheat, tobacco, corn, sun flower, sugar beet, hazelnut, rice in the husk, and vegetables. Bafra and aramba savannas which are important places for agriculture of city.

Every 19th May, for celebrating the first day of national struggle that M.Kemal Atatrk started in 1919, Turkish Stars make a show in the blue skies.

We take our students to opera as outside school activities. In Samsun theres a public opera.

Learning about his/her own history is important for our students. The point where Atatrk landed on from Bandrma Ferry.

Bandrma Ferry is a symbol of War of Independence.
