Kaedah Penyampaian Tenaga Pengajar Semester Pengajian Sinopsis Kursus

Combination of the techniques below: Lectures Group Discussion Presentation Semester 1,2, 3 or 4/ First Year or Second Year This course is designed to develop students competence in academic writing. It introduces students to the skills needed to become effective writers. The approach adopted in the course is the process-centred approach. Students will be guided through the main stages in academic writing such as pre-writing, outlining, drafting and revising which will

enable them to produce well-organised and adequately develop essays. The course also exposes students to typical rhetorical modes or organizational patterns in academic writing modelled by selected reading articles, which they can later draw on in their university work. Emphasis is also given to creative and critical thinking which are integral to the process of academic writing. Grammatical items and patterns pertinent to academic writing are taught in the course to develop the analytical skills needed by the student to edit their written work. Objektif Kursus By the end of this course, students should be able to: 1. demonstrate their understanding of the main stages of the writing process i.e. pre-writing, planning, outlining, writing and revising.

different mode of essays following basic writing conventions, displaying good writing strategies, critical thinking skills and creative language.
