COMPLAINT-AFFIDAVIT

I, MEDALIN M. TEVES, Filipino, single, of legal age, and a resident of Tabuc Suba, Jaro, Iloilo City, under oath hereby depose and say, that:
1. I am the informant of the blotter report No. 12345 before the Tabuc

Suba, Jaro, Iloilo City police station regarding the robbing and shooting incident that happened on July 5, 2011 at 11:45 in the evening which took place on Row-Lins Lechon House. Attach hereto is the blotter report marked as Annex A.
2. I am a part-owner of Row-Lins Lechon House with the business address

at Brgy. Benedicto St., Jaro, Iloilo City, owned and managed by me and my partner Rowena Pendon;
3. On the evening of July 5, 2011, at around 11:45 PM while my partner

and I are getting ready to close down for the night, we heard a light creaking sound coming from the kitchens backdoor so Ive ask her to check on it;
4. After a few minutes, I was disturbed by the falling sound of the

cauldrons and other kitchen wares, so I followed to check on what happened. I was startled to see my partner being strangled on the neck by our neighbor Exfedeo Arondain, who is armed with a pistol on his right hand and he instantly points it against me;
5. At that moment, I heard him say, Teves, all I want is the money, just

give it to me and Ill release Pendon (Teves, ang kwarta lang akon, hatag sa akon hay buy-an ko si Pendon);
6.

I was walking backwards as Exfedeo Arondain, is still pointing the gun at me and strangling Rowena Pendon as we are all moving towards the cashiers area of the restaurant. Upon reaching the cashiers area, he directed me to open the drawer, to get all the money amounting to more or less Sixty Thousand Pesos (Php 60,000.00) and to place it on top of the drawer;

7. When he is about to grab the money with his right hand, Rowena

Pendon took the chance of grabbing the pistol on Exfedeo Arondains hand and theyve started to brawl in order to get hold of the pistol;
8. Hence, I was able to escape to ask for help on the nearest police station

which is just a block away from our restaurant. Senior Police Officers

Anne Francisca Tribunal and Ramilyn Dalisay were the officers on duty that night and I immediately ask for help;
9. We hurriedly headed back to the restaurant but as we are a few steps

away from the establishment, we heard a gun shot. At the time of reaching the premises, we saw Rowena Pendons body lying on the floor, drenched in her own blood, lifeless. Thereon, Ive checked the money on top of the drawer but the suspect manages to steal it before he had escaped.
10. After a few minutes, the officers of the Iloilo City Emergency Response

Team (ICER) arrived and examined the body of Rowena Pendon, and subsequently declaring it as dead on the spot. Attach hereto is the medico-legal report issued by the Philippine National Police (PNP)
11. I hereby execute this affidavit to attest to the truth of the foregoing

allegations and for the purpose of filing a criminal complaint against Exfedeo Arondain for the crime of robbery with homicide. Defined and penalized under Article 294, par.1 of the Revised Penal Code as amended.
