RESPECTED SIR/MADAM, SUBJECT: REPORT ON THE ONE DAY INDUSTRIAL VISIT.

On receiving the letter of permission from HALONIX LIMITED, NOIDA, 28 students along with a faculty member (Mrs. Ruby Bhatia) went on an industrial visit to the factory on 31-08-11. We all assembled at the college at and left the college in a van. We reached the factory at 3 oclock. An engineer-in-charge of production received us at the entrance. We were then taken to the conference room, where Mr. Deepak Bhandari, gave us a brief introduction about their company. He told that Halonix always focus on three main key areas i.e. Quality, Cost & Safety. He further told that their workforce is their prime strength. On asking about their competitors, he told us that their major competitors are Philips and Havells. He also told us that to reduce losses in their production they have implemented new techniques including Six Sigma. Then an engineer took us to their production department where we visited each and every section one by one and he explained the various process involved in the making

of Led lights. The workers were doing their respective work. Everyone was wearing gloves. He showed us the complete process through which a final Led is produced, right from cutting a glass tube to fitting a tungsten wire, then filling the tube with nitrogen, sealing it, etc. All the machines were made in Germany and the parts were from Japan. A few robots are also employed to do certain repetitive minor operations. At each stage of their production, they regularly checked for any default i.e. if any part is not upto the standard; it is to be removed right away. We then again assembled back at the conference room. Senior officials, head of H.R. department and operations then shared with us the vision and future policies of their company. They told us about their overall functioning and their effective delivery system throughout the world. They also readily answered some of our doubts and questions. They gave us suggestions regarding our future and also addressed about the opportunities in the market regarding jobs. The visit came to an end at 5.00p.m. We left the premises at 5.30p.m. It was an informative, interesting and a successful visit. As students of P.G.D.M. marketing & h.r. student, I learned a few marketing strategies, effective logistics plan, competition in the LED product category and various H.R. policies which the company employs, like 360 degree and 180 degree performance appraisal. We express our thanks to the Director of our college who permitted us to go on the visit, the faculty member who accompanied us and the officials who explained the various departments. I request you to arrange more of such industrial visit for students which can practically train us for the future. Thanking You ABHISHEK KUMAR
