CCNA ( 640-802 )

Duration: 5 Full days Required Examination: 640:802 Overview & Objectives This course will lead to a CISCO Certification (CCNA). This is the CISCO: Fundamental of Internetworking and WAN Configuration but with more in-depth information for those of you who are looking for a deeper knowledge base or an additional certification. The CCNA certification (Cisco Certified Network Associate) indicates a foundation in and apprentice knowledge of networking. CCNA certified professionals can install, configure, and operate LAN, WAN, and dial access services for small networks (100 nodes or fewer), including but not limited to use of these protocols: IP, IGRP, Serial, Frame Relay, IP RIP, VLANs, RIP, Ethernet, Access Lists. Prerequisites Working knowledge of TCP/IP protocol Suite IPX/SPX protocols Suite, MCSE or CNE or experienced in supporting a LAN environment. Target Group System administrators, network engineers, software engineers, system analysts, students, or power-users / PC users who may wish to learn about using the Cisco Router Configuration. Over the last two years, the IT industry has changed dramatically. The Cisco certification landscape has also undergone huge changes. This article talks about the career certifications available from Cisco and will help you decide which is right for you. Originally the only certification that Cisco offered was the CCIE (Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert). Since the Cisco certification program's inception, the number of available certifications has grown to 26. This includes 2 certifications at the associate level, 4 at the professional level, 3 expert level certifications, and 17 specialist certifications.

Cisco Certified Network Associate

Alternately, the certifications can be broken down into certification paths: Communications and Services, Network Design, Network Installation, and Network Security. Arguably, the specializations could be considered a separate certification path, but they are more of an indication of specialization (for lack of a better word) with a certain facet of Cisco networking. The Network Design path is the only one that does not have a corresponding expert-level certification available.
