Recommendation Traffic controllers or signalman to be deployed during loading unloading activities. All services to be identify and marked clearly for easy identification. A safe working distance to be established from the excavation pit. Work area to be barricaded and relevant signages to be posted. Keep un authorize person away from the excavation area. Excavation more than 2 meters in depth to be properly shored and need to design by P.E.
Frequency
Service detection to be carry out prior to commencement of excavation works. Positioning of the excavator or backhoe for the excavation works. Excavation being carry out adjacent to public area or over lapping with other site operation. Excavation wall collapse in the event of blending or concrete works in progress.
Damage to the public services which could cause injury to general public or site workers. Excavation machine fall into the excavation pit.

Recommendation All excavated material should be placed 2 meters away from the edges. If possible all waste material to be dispose immediately off site. Proper planning for the excavation works to be implemented. Removal of the excavated material to be scheduled during off pick hours. If necessary dust suppression program to be introduce.
