Dear Bros in Christ,

Proverbs 27:17 As iron sharpens iron, So a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.
Brothers in Christ, this monthly devotional is sent and meant to be an encouragement to all and to build up and
edify in the Lord Jesus Christ. Oikodome means "Builder". The Lord has put this on my heart to send out a
monthly Iron Man Oikodome {oy-kod-om-ay'} to build up and encourage the men who love and follow Jesus
Christ in their walk with Him.

Hebrews 3:13 "But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened
by sin's deceitfulness."

“Light it up Bros”
Luke 8:16 "No one, when he has lit a lamp, covers it with a vessel or puts [it] under a bed, but sets [it] on a
lampstand, that those who enter may see the light.
This scripture speaks louder and even more to me now as I see the heart of America by the way she votes. Our
nation has grown more liberal and ungodly (of course it is definitely evident to see all around us, but speaking
mainly in addressing the recent elections/ballots) not only by the way we vote but the things we had to vote for that
were on the ballot. It is amazing to see things that are such an abomination to God that we are putting up for a vote
or the mere fact that we have to vote on it in the first place. Bros, it grieves ones heart to see the state of condition
of the heart of America and realize that almost every American says they are a Christian, but when we look at the
measures on the ballots we know that to not be true, you would think you were looking at a ballot from Sodom and
Gomorrah days if they had one…. How can this be?? Bros more than ever we need to be a light to this dark world,
can you imagine if we were to share the gospel with at least one person a day. That guy down at the gas station,
star bucks, your neighbor, your family friends, your family, your barber or your co workers… That would be 365
different folks that would hear the gospel a year from you alone, can you imagine? But yet that is what we are
called to do, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations…” Some compelling reasons why we should share
our faith; because God has commanded us to, the final words of Jesus while on earth Acts 1:8 But you shall
receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all
Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth." And also the Bible speaks concerning this. It demonstrates our
love for God and also Jesus said if we truly loved Him we would keep His commandments. Because all are lost,
sharing the gospel is Gods chosen method to tell all people, only redeemed sinners can tell lost sinners about
Christ. God desires to save all people and because someone once shared their faith with us. Maybe our pastor,
Sunday school teacher, friend or family member, neighbor or a complete stranger shared Christ with us; they have
a right to expect that we would do the same. Bros I remember when I was younger and in my BC days we use to
hitchhike to the beach and it seemed like every time some long haired hippie like us would pull over and give us a
ride and we would think cool for sure he is a stoner so we can all get high. But no sooner were we in the car and
rolling down the highway then all of a sudden the hippie would look over at you and say with a big smile on his
face “Man Jesus Loves you dude”. And then want to start quoting scriptures with you and get his Bible out and
share about Jesus. The point I am making is these dudes only picked us up for the opportunity to be a witness to us
and share the gospel. When is the last time you went out of your way to tell someone about Jesus? Let’s not shine it
on anymore, the world needs to hear about Jesus more now than ever and it is within our power to make a
difference bros, we can shine the Light of the Lord and be salt and light to this dark and dying world right where
we are at one person at a time. Lord Jesus please light us up! Light it up bros do not be content or complacent with
a low dim glow but be bold and let your light shine brightly for Jesus. Bros we have got to make a stand for
righteousness and it can’t start tomorrow it has to begin right now in our hearts the days are growing short and time
will soon be out, remember how many times it may have taken you to hear the gospel before you believed and
received, don’t wait to start telling folks about Jesus. Just look at our elections (I could not sleep that night my
heart was so grieved because I saw the heart of America, not because of who got elected, but what we are willing
to settle for and allow to happen in America not voting for righteousness not that we didn’t but the state and
condition of Americas heart, it is dark) and know the Lord is coming back soon, lets let Him find us being a true
and faithful witness with boldness, not being ashamed of our Lord but professing our faith with boldness and zeal,
God please light our hearts on fire for you, kick us in the rear end get us moving for you Lord, don’t let us sit this
game out on the bench, Lord help us to play our best game for You Lord we need You Lord Jesus to fill us and
control us by Your Holy Spirit, teach us to be obedient and follow Your commandments and please help us to get
back in the game before it’s “Game Over”. Bros we have an awesome God and He loves you and me, let’s love
Him back and be about our Fathers business, there is no excuse to make or time left for us wonder what we should
be doing…. Walk in His gladness and minister to the least, the last and the lost, where are they; look no further
than your eyes can see they are right in our own backyard- America!
