About the Pattern

Each corazoncito is crocheted in continuous spirals without joining the rounds. You will need a stitch marker to keep track of where the beginning of each round starts; move the marker up to the first stitch of the next round after finishing the previous one. When you look at the pictures and use them as reference, I just want to let you know that I am left handed and so the direction in which the rounds are going, and the way the hook is positioned is opposite for those of you that are right handed. The yarns used for this project are listed in the Final Notes section on the last page, near the images if youre interested in using the same color and yarn that made these little hearts! I made the majority of the increases and decreases in the outer edges of the hearts (until the final 3 rows) to make them a bit flatter and not as full. IMPORTANT- If you want to put craft eyes in to have a face, you will need to insert them after completing the round with 16 sts, otherwise it starts getting too narrow for that. Also, check out the additional pdf download to see pictures of how I joined the humps together :)

Final Notes
If you havent already, (using scrap yarn, or the fastened off end of the first hump) sew the opening between the 2 humps together, going around until youre comfortable with the security of the stitching, when youve used up most of the yarn, finish by by inserting the needle through the heart and pulling it out the other side then doing that again and tugging tightly while you snip the remaining yarn as closely as you can get to the heart, then move it around a bit and the end will work its way back into the body of the heart. If youd like to add a face, using the raspberry colored embroidery floss, embroider the mouth onto the heart ; you could also use black, the only reason I didnt was because I couldnt find any on hand... weird huh. You can get creative with embellishments, for example if youd like a broken heart, you could cut a piece of black felt to resemble a lightening bolt and embroider it from between the humps down the middle. Personalize it any way youd like. The yarn used for this project was: Lion Brand Cashmere Blend- Red #113 If you have any questions or suggestions regarding this pattern please email me at owlishly.designed@gmail.com.
