Technical Data Sheet - MP334C Metal Primer

Description MP334C is a mixture of reactive polymer components in an organic solvent system. The blue solution is used to enhance the adhesion of ferrous and non-ferrous metals to castable polyurethanes. The cured bond has excellent resistance to water, oil, and detergent solutions, mild solvents and dilutes acids and alkalis. Features Fast drying Economical Non-toxic Easy to use

Typical Properties Flash Point Solids content Density Appearance - 2.C 20 % 0.88 0.92 g/ml Blue transparent liquid

Method A properly prepared substrate is essential to achieve consistent bond performance. Using a suitable solvent or cleaning solution removes all oil, grease and other soluble material from the surface of the joint. Rust or scale or other lose debris should also be removed by mechanical or chemical methods. Grit blasting, mechanical abrasion or chemical etching will aid the adhesion of the primer to the substrate, and will significantly increase bond strength. For optimum bond performance a post cure of 60 90.C for 1 4 hours is recommended. MP334C can be applied by: dipping, brushing or spraying. Spraying may involve the dilution of the material with a solvent blend. Contact: Technical Support on 01793 823741 or support@robnor.co.uk for details. MP334C has been formulated to provide optimum bond strength with one coat. Thick primer layers generally result in lower bond strength. In summary 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Degrease Abrade (for best results) Degrease Apply primer Allow primer to dry to just tacky (approx. 40 - 90 minutes @ RT) 6. Cast PU and cure 7. Post cure for optimum results Storage Store in cool dry conditions between 10 and 25.C Shelf life is a minimum of 12 months in original sealed containers. Some separation may occur on prolonged storage. If this occurs shake or stir container until separation has dissolved. Immediately seal container after use. Health and Safety MP334C is HIGHLY FLAMMABLE, do not eat, smoke, or weld in the immediately vicinity of the material. Use in well ventilated areas only.
