McKesson Quality eMeasures for Horizon Clinicals

Benefits
Meets ARRA Stage 1 quality reporting requirements Integrates seamlessly with your McKesson EHR Reduces IT impact with the SaaS delivery model Includes business advisors to facilitate enterprisewide adoption of metrics To receive Medicare and Medicaid reimbursements under the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act, hospitals must report on 15 hospital quality measures using certified electronic health record (EHR) technology to collect and calculate data. Manual data abstraction is not allowed. McKesson Quality eMeasures calculates and submits meaningful use quality measures to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and the states, providing an integrated approach to meeting reporting requirements. The web-based software as a service (SaaS) model allows stakeholders immediate access to view, monitor and analyze results as needed. As new measures are introduced, McKesson will quickly incorporate changes into the calculations to prevent reporting backlogs.

Getting Started
McKesson Quality eMeasures is available to customers who have installed the required EHR technology and implemented codified and prescriptive clinical content. To capture the data necessary for metric calculation, organizations must be live housewide on the following products: Horizon Emergency Care (or other certified EDIS) Horizon Expert Orders Horizon Admin-Rx Horizon Health Summary Horizon Expert Documentation The implementation of McKesson Quality eMeasures begins within approximately 30 days of your Horizon Clinicals 10.3.1 go-live and spans approximately six to eight weeks.

Measurement as a By-Product of Patient Care

Quality measure calculation requires complex calculations and statistical comparisons. Measures rely on SNOMED-coded problems, procedures and diagnoses; LOINCcoded lab results; RxNorm-coded medication administrations and other discrete, coded data captured as a by-product of patient care. McKesson Quality eMeasures extracts data, calculates each measure and displays results in a dynamic scorecard, attestation report or submission file that enables fast, patient-level analysis.

Seamless Technology
The McKesson Quality eMeasures solution is a core component of your EHR. Clinical documentation captured at the point of care is extracted regularly and automatically aggregated, rapidly returning reliable information.
