Through the networking of our practitioners and technical experts our members combine their skills, experience and talent to solve common problems and shape the future of the emergency management industry. AFAC offers a range of opportunities for companies involved in emergency management to support events and other innovative activities. Our program changes from year to year in response to changing industry issues and challenges. This is a guide only to the opportunities that are available. We would be delighted to work with you to develop tailored initiatives that align with your organisations goals. AFAC is the only national organisation of its kind in the emergency management sector and can offer you unique opportunities to engage with the most senior practitioners and decision-makers in our industry.

AFAC & Bushfire CRC Annual Conference


The AFAC & Bushfire CRC Annual Conference is a major event which every year increases in popularity. Conference 2012 will be held in August at the Perth Convention Centre. More than 1,400 delegates and the biggest trade expo of its kind in the southern hemisphere made the conference in Sydney 2011 a resounding success. AFAC Professional Development and Knowledge Sharing Events


AFAC co-ordinates and manages a number of professional development events during the year. These events are created in response to identified industry needs and may take the form of seminars, workshops, master classes, field trips or other activities.
A strategic goal for AFAC is to facilitate knowledge sharing across the industry, ensuring that the collective experience, skill and wisdom is captured and applied in decision making and finding solutions to common industry challenges. Our practitioners and technical experts work collaboratively though the AFAC structure of Groups and Networks and AFAC is well recognised as a conduit for facilitating this collaborative effort and gathering and disseminating industry knowledge. AFAC operates throughout Australasia and the Pacific region and plays a significant co-ordination role for the sector in knowledge management and innovation. There are a number of opportunities for organisations to support these activities.

Professional Development Events

During the year AFAC delivers a number of professional development events focussed on identified industry issues and challenges. Formats of these events include: workshops, seminars, field studies and forums. Average audiences range from 50-90 members. Some activities are open to wider EM audiences. AFAC are seeking three to five non competitive corporate partners to become AFAC Professional Development Program Partners. Benefits to sponsors over a 12 month period include: Company signage at events as appropriate Opportunity to participate in any add-on social activity Acknowledgement at event Company logo and branding on promotion materials designed for the event Media releases to trade publications News articles in AFAC News e-newsletter Acknowledgement through AFAC social media promotional campaigns including targeted email, AFACNews, Facebook and twitter Acknowledgement as appropriate on AFAC websites and event calendars

Support of a one-off activity with participation > 100 persons. Sponsorship negotiable on participation rate and ability to network with delegates. AFAC Knowledge Web

$10,000

The AFAC Knowledge Web is the information site and resource for all industry data including but not limited to: industry positions, guidelines, submissions, reports, training and professional development information, standards and specifications, industry statistics, research and more. Currently there are more than 3,000 regular users of the AFAC Knowledge Web. Sponsorship - One of three non-compete sponsorships for 12 month company identification on the AFAC Knowledge Web site, plus logo identification on all KW marketing collateral.

Monthly e-newsletter to targeted database of more than 2,500 industry practitioners, managers and technical experts. Sole sponsorship 12 month period Logo placement x 12 issues Sponsor advertisement x 6 issues

Learning and Development


AFAC run a series of Learning and Development courses for leaders in emergency management. Opportunities exist for commercial organisations to support this learning and development program in the following ways: Overall support for the delivery of the five day, in-house program Naming rights sponsorship of a scholarship program to subsidise nominated delegate (from national pool) Naming rights to recognise program Dux and fund ongoing graduate study overseas or in a program recommended by AFAC and its member agencies.
