1. Introduction
These Application Notes discuss how to provision Avaya Call Management System (CMS) to support three Avaya S8100 Media Servers/Avaya G600 Media Gateways. The Avaya Call Management System is used to extend the call center reporting mechanisms in the Avaya S8100 Media Server. Further information can be found in CentreVu CMS R3V9 Software Installation, Maintenance and Trouble Shooting, 585-215-956 and CentreVu CMS Switch Connections and Administration, Document ID: 585-215-876. These Application Notes were prepared at the request of the Avaya Hosted Solutions organization.

4. Configuring the Avaya S8100/G600

This section details the administration on the switches that must be done to enable the CMS interface. It assumes that BCMS has already been administered on the switch. The LAN integration method is used to connect CMS to each S8100/G600. Details can be found in CentreVu CMS Switch Connections and Administration, Document ID 585-215-876.

4.1. Administration Common to All S8100/G600s.

To enable an external CMS adjunct on the S8100/G600, execute the change system-parameters feature command, go to page 11, enter R3V9 in the Adjunct CMS Release field (see Figure 2).

Figure 2: Change System-Parameters Feature Form

4.2. LAN Integration

The CMS is connected to each S8100/G600 via a LAN connection. This section assumes that a CLAN and associated Ethernet Data Module have already been administered.

4.2.1. Node Names Form

An entry for the CMS adjunct must be added to the node names form on each S8100/G600. See Figure 3. In the example below, cms3 was added to identify the CMS adjunct.

4.2.2. Processor Channel Form

A processor channel must be added on each S8100/G600 to facilitate a connection to CMS. By convention, processor channel 1 (local and remote) should be used on the first switch, processor channel 2 (local and remote) should be used on the second switch and processor channel 3 (local and remote) should be used on the third switch. See Figures 4-6.

Release 3 Version 9 Software Installation, Maintenance, and Troubleshooting, Document ID 585-215-956. The Avaya CMS application can be configured either interactively or though the use of a UNIX flat file. The flat file configuration method is described within this note. The configuration file used to connect up to the three switches is contained in Appendix A. The significant connection information is displayed in table 1. The same information can be found in the highlighted sections of Appendix A. ACD 1 2 3 Name 104 105 106 Address 107.16.10.2 110.16.10.2 115.16.10.2 TCP Port 5001 5001 5001 Local Port 1 2 3 Remote Port 1 2 3

Table 1: CMS Connection Information The address field is the address of the CLAN circuit pack on the associated switch. The default TCP port is 5001; this must match the port entry on the associated switchs Processor Channel Assignment form. Local and Remote Port must also match the entries on the associated switchs Processor Channel Assignment form. By convention, ACD1 uses Local/Remote port 1/1, ACD2 uses Local/Remote port 2/2 and ACD3 uses Local/Remote port 3/3. This configuration file is located in /cms/install/cms.install. The administrator configures the file and then executes cmssvc, option 6 to install the file.

6. Remote Administration of CMS

The Avaya CMS Supervisor R9 GUI application can be used to administer CMS remotely. Telnet can be used to access the CMS server to execute the cmssvc and cmsadm commands. In the setup demonstrated in these Application Notes, a supervisor/administrator is configured for each ACD. These permissions would be configured to limit access permission to only those resources associated with the ACD. These supervisors/administrations are connected to the CMS via hostname.hme0. A master supervisor/administrator appears on the other interface hostname.gme0. The master supervisor/administrator is configured to have access to all three ACDs. The cms login was used for the master supervisor/administrator. In order to use the cms login with CMS Supervisor, it is necessary to change the shell in /etc/passwd for the cms login to cms.

7. Conclusions
These Application Notes demonstrate how to configure Avaya CMS in a three switch configuration using DCS networking. It further demonstrates how to setup the Avaya CMS to support administration by both the customer and the service provider.
