Human resources management is an intelligent and logical approach to the management of organizations most valued assets.

It involves employing people, developing their resources, utilizing, maintaining and compensating their services with respect to the job and organizational requirement. In the last decade, several business crises have arisen due to poor international management and governance systems and the implication resulting from these poor human resources planning can affect the performance of a business and the productive levels of employees. Human resources management is a delicate subject especially with the growing need to continuously encourage organizations, institutions and governments to carry out business and general management activities on an international scale. The general breakdown of boundaries such as geographical locations, language barriers and the emergence of effective communication technologies over the last decade, has also led to a rapid globalization which in turn has prompted the need for organizations to adopt a seamless internationally viable business and management strategy. The importance of international management in an ever changing world can not be over emphasized. Banking and Finance was my passion right from my early days at University. However during my internship with a multinational firm, I developed a great deal of passion towards human resource management as I was assigned to the department. It was quite challenging at first but, working with the HR department provided me with the opportunity to understand the general concept as well as the importance of HR management. Over the six month period, I was able to appreciate the magnitude of the task faced by the human resource team as they had to manage thousands of employees from all over the country as well as oversee the recruitment of fresh employees. Also, as part of the human resource help desk team, I was introduced to general employee information, cases, data gathering, interviewing techniques, recruitment procedures and employee personal data handling as well as the legalities involved. My career goals and aspirations where reshaped after the experience I had with the multinational firm during the six month internship programme, which is part of the requirement of the university (Where I obtained my bachelors degree). I achieved good grades in social sciences based courses which provided me with a lot of useful and important information relating to the structure and function of organizations and individuals. I have also acquired effective communication and analytical skills which is

essential to human resources management. Besides the theoretical, work placement training and a chartered institute of personnel management (CIPM) qualification which I have obtained, I would like to gain further development in human resource management to fulfil my ultimate goal of becoming an invaluable asset to a management team. I possess the prerequisite knowledge and understanding in human resource management and I require the vast resources offered by the university in order to build a successful career in this vital area of endeavour. Pursuing a masters degree is a responsibility I owe to myself as well as a commitment I have to others. I refer to it as a responsibility because I have a practical outlook on life, which makes me actively seek and go after the things that I desire to accomplish in life. Finally in this age of increasing specialization, I aim to develop myself into a human resources management specialist through the best training from one of the worlds leading academic institutions (University of West England). I strongly believe that receiving quality education from such an esteemed institution would certainly be an indelible advancement in my personal and career development, ensuring the fulfilment of a long-cherished aspiration of mine.
