No appointment, no entry! But through experience, I learned that there are certain people who can apply for new, renewal or lost passport with no appointment and can be done in less than an hour. Where? At the Courtesy Lane. RUSH PROCESSING ONLY Bring your GSIS ID or any VALID ID Not everyone is entitled to apply at the Courtesy Lane. Only these individuals can apply there: 1. Government employee (permanent employee only) 2. Spouse of government employee 3. Unmarried children of government employee 4. Parents of government employee 5. Incumbent elected officials 6. Barangay Elected Officials: Brgy. Chairman, Brgy. Kagawad, Brgy. SK Chairman 7. Retired government employee of not more than 1 year ***Senior Citizens, pregnant women and kids below one year old are also being accommodated. Use Gate 3 across Mcdonalds and show your GSIS ID or government ID. Walk straight to the building, get inside and go upstairs using the escalator. Present your ID to the staff on the counter beside the Area 2. Fill-out the passport application form and return it to them. Follow their instructions of what to do next. The queue in this area is shorter and the processing is faster compared to the ground floor, where scheduled applications take 2-3 hours. Philippine passport renewal guide for senior citizens Posted on Sunday, 28 August 2011 by nina | Viewed 2,493 times Thanks to the Department of Foreign Affairs Courtesy Lane, renewing the passport for your parents or relatives who are already senior citizens, the process is a breeze. Senior citizens are exempt from the appointment system; they just need to go to the DFA Consular Office in the ASEANA Business Park along Macapagal Avenue and apply. Those renewing must bring their expired/expiring passport, along with a photocopy of the first and last page, amendments page, and the page with the last Bureau of Immigration departure and arrival stamps. For holders of brown passports (issued before May 1995), applicant must also bring a copy of their birth certificate printed on security paper (SECPA). If you forgot to photocopy the documents before going to the DFA, theres a photocopy machine inside the passport processing area. Copies costs Php 3 per page. Step 1: Fill out form The passport renewal application form is available at the counter beside the door to Passport Processing Area 2 (PPA2) in the 2nd floor. Step 2: Have documents checked and get number Line up at the counter and have your application form and documents verified. You will be given a queue number. You can now enter the Passport Process Area 2. Step 3: Submit application Once your number is called, go up to the window and submit your documents. You will be asked to take a seat while they verify your information. Once finished, you will be asked

whether you want the expedited processing (Php 1,200, 10 working days) or the regular processing (Php 950, 20 working days). You will be issued an invoice, Step 4: Pay processing fee Go out of PPA2 and go to the cashier section just beside it. Once youve paid, go out the same door. If the guard tells you that the exit is on the other side, tell him that you are in the courtesy lane. Step 5: Have pictures and biometrics taken Once youve paid, go to the photo and biometrics section within the PPA2. Give the receipt of your payment, then your picture and thumbprints will be taken digitally. You will also be asked for your signature and to verify your information. Step 6: Pay for courier service (optional) If you live far from the DFA or do not have time to go back to pick up the new passport, you can opt to have it delivered instead. Go to the LBC table near the door and pay Php 120 for each passport (even if they are going to be delivered to the same address). The new passport will be delivered the following day after the passports release date. Thats it. All in all, the entire process only took us 30 minutes. The DFA Courtesy Lane is open for senior citizens, infants and minors, government employees and their families. If you would like to use the surname of your spouse:

Marriage Contract (MC) in Security Paper issued by NSO and Certified True Copy issued by the Local Civil Registrar if MC secpa is unreadable. Certificate of Attendance (color green) from CFO (Commission of Filipino Overseas) if married to a foreigner.

If you would like to revert to your maiden name. Please prepare the following as well:

Birth Certificate (BC) in Security Paper (SECPA) issued by the National Statistics Office (NSO) or Certified True Copy (CTC) of BC issued by the Local Civil Registrar duly authenticated by NSO. If widowed: Death Certificate of the deceased husband and Marriage Contract (MC) in Security Paper issued by NSO or by the Local Civil Registrar duly authenticated by NSO. If marriage is annulled: Certified true copy and photocopy of the first page and the dispositive portion of the judgment on annulment and NSO-issued Marriage Certificate with the annotation on the annulment decree. If divorced: Certified true copy and photocopy of the first page and the dispositive portion of the judgment on divorce authenticated by the Philippine Embassy or Consulate where the divorce is obtained and NSO-issued Marriage Certificate with the annotation on the divorced decree.

What to expect when you call the DFA Appointment Hotline (02) 737-1000 All passport applicants scheduled for appearance must appear physically at the DFA at the date and time of their scheduled personal appearance for data and image capturing. This applies to all passport applicants, aging from 0 years old onwards. DFA is strict about the personal appearance system, absolutely no chaperone allowed for passport applicants aging 18 years old onwards. 1. Your call will be received by a Customer Care Officer who will assist you in setting an appointment for your passport application.

2. After getting your appointment schedule, you will be asked to provide your personal information for the passport application. 3. You will be advised on the applicable requirements you need to bring for your passport application. 4. You will receive a reference number relative to your appointment schedule. 5. Go to passport.com.ph/print to print your application form using the Print Code given by the Customer Care Officer. 6. On your appointment date, proceed to the DFA Consular Office located at ASEANA Business Park, Bradco Avenue corner Macapagal Boulevard, Paranaque City (see locator map). You must be at the DFA Consular Office 30 minutes before your scheduled time. Early/Late comers will not be entertained. 7. Present your printed application form to the Appointment Counter. 8. Wait for your queue number to appear on the monitor indicating what processing window you will go to. 9. After processing, proceed to the Passport Enrollment Section located at the 2nd Floor. Pay the applicable passport processing fees (see passport fees). 10. After payment, proceed to the Encoding Section for data capturing. 11. After the Encoding Section, you can have your new passport released and delivered to your home without having to return to the DFA on the release date (optional).
