It makes me feel good because I have all this stuff and they dont, and Idont like it when I see people with less things than me. So it makes me feel good to see people with the same amount, she explained. Lorna says she is proud of her young daughter. Im extremely proud of the selflessness in this whole process, she said. The fact that she came up with this option on her own, way back when she was turning six, just made my heart melt. But Lorna said Neave wouldnt be able to make this donation each year without the help of friends and family. Neave is able to donate $220 because when her friends see the birthday invitationthat this is what she wants to do we make it optional parents dont have to do this, Lorna explained. But theyre extremely generous and put far

more into it than if they went out to Wal-Mart and bought her a present. Its because of the generosity of everybody thatshe can donate. Neaves generosity is contagious, says Lorna, and has inspired her own siblings as well as family and friends to donate. I think its important we live in a society with so much that its really special to see kids reaching out and giving up their own stuff in order to help others, said Lorna. As a society, if we dont reach out and bring everybody up, well all end up falling back. As for Neave, she plans to donate her birthday money as long as she can. Im probably going to do this until Im too old to get presents, she explained. If you love presents and you want to do that, thats fine. But if you want to donate then thats always goodand thank your friends for their donations and their generosity.
