Membership Categories
Members hold advanced degrees in their areas of expertise. Associate Members must have an undergraduate degree in a relevant academic discipline. Couple Members are offered at reduced dues fee and receive one copy of each publication and mailing. Applicants for couple membership must submit one application for each person. Retired Members are retired professionals who are over 65 years of age and have greatly reduced their professional activities may maintain membership in SSSS at a reduced rate. Developing Professional Members There are 3 categories of developing professional membershipsthe 1st year, the 2nd year, and the 3rd year after a terminal degree (Masters or Doctoral). Student Members There are two categories of student membershipsStudent Member with Journal and Student Member without Journal.

Membership Benefits Publications


The Journal of Sex Research: A quarterly publication which serves as a forum for the interdisciplinary exchange of knowledge SSSS is a non-profit professional membership organization home to a diversity of professionals including, but not limited to sexologists, psychologists, health care professionals, educators, researchers, and therapists represented by its members, conference participants, and journal authors. SSSS has a strong commitment to the next generation through the support of a vigorous student membership program, recognition of student research and presentations. SSSSs award program recognizes professional excellence, public service and service to The Society. A broad range of committee activity provides numerous opportunities for the involvement of members. Members Only List Serve: SSSStalk is an e-mail discussion list for SSSS members to network and discuss topics of interest. Sexual Science: An online newsletter, published four times a year. Annual Review of Sex Research: ARSR has become a double issue of JSR, containing 710 comprehensive chapters authored by leading experts in the field. among professionals concerned with the scientific study of sexuality. Recent editions available online.

Conferences and Education


SSSSs Annual Meeting: Held in the fall, this conference presents members with an excellent opportunity to share information concerning their own work and to update their knowledge through attendance of plenary, concurrent, and Continuing Education sessions. Members receive a reduced registration fee. Regional Organizations and International Memberships: Regional sub-units of SSSS sponsor a conference each spring, and support several chapters and/or local activities. Members receive reduced fees.
