IDINGS TEMPLE T

Pastors Letter...

April 2012

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, Members and Friends of Tremont Temple Baptist Church!

Christ is Risen! He is Risen indeed! This is the Easter greeting proclaimed around the world. On Easter Sunday morning, Christians worldwide will celebrate the resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ. What does the resurrection mean to you? Is it merely the fact that a man was dead and was now alive? Modern medicine repeats such near death experiences all the time. The resurrection is more than that! Indeed the resurrection is Gods confirmation to the world that in fact Jesus Christ is Lord! The resurrection is the turning point of history. It is the end of the old covenant of sacrifices. It is the end of the Law and the Temple. Now in Jesus Christ, a new freedom and a new covenant between God and man have been established. No longer must we wander not knowing who God is, or where he is, or how I relate to him! In Jesus Christ we meet the triune God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit...Creator, Redeemer, and Sanctifier. The Apostle Paul reminds us that if Christ be not risen - then our hope is in vain. Do you have hope? Do you live every day in the hope of Christs coming? When you pray, when you work, when you play, when you are with friends, never forget that it is Christ that makes all things new! It is Christ that turns sorrow into joy and pain into healing. It is Christ who awakens our dreary soul to a new hope for tomorrow. For that reason Christ has come...to give us life and life more abundantly! The reason the Church exists is to communicate this new life to all of humanity, to society generally and to every person individually. It is for that reason that we have Worship and Bible Study and Prayer Meetings. Please make a real effort to come to our Holy Week services of Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter morning. What a wonderful time to have fellowship with one another! Thats why we will again have hot cross buns and a continental breakfast on Easter Sunday morning at 9:00 a.m. Come and share the joy of new life in Christ! Bring a friend to our Easter celebration. Live in expectant hope of what God in Christ has prepared for you, your family and friends....and for the whole world. Christ is risen! He is risen indeed! My prayer for you this Easter is that it will be a time for you to renew your faith in the eternal and risen Christ and give you power to be witnesses to this abundant life and hope! Come, celebrate Easter with your Tremont Temple family! In the Joy of Christ,
Denton Lotz, Pastor
