All of Us - #541
Fr. Larry Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia! Happy Easter to all! Thank you for being with us this Easter as we celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Your presence at St. Cyril's today is a precious gift to our parish community. How good it is for us to gather and share in this Holy Eucharist. I am sure God is smiling down from heaven upon us today. Easter is filled with hope and joy. The songs we sing, the prayers we offer, even the colorful flowers and beautiful Easter lilies that decorate our church, all reflect the faith we profess today and the in new life given to us by Christ. Easter is just one day in the year. But every day, as followers of Jesus, we are to give witness to Christ in our life. Our prayer every Sunday is rooted in the death and resurrected Lord. The Easter season itself continues on for 50 days as we make our way to Pentecost Sunday. I am grateful for the many volunteers who worked so hard behind the scenes throughout this Holy Week to make our liturgies beautiful and meaningful expressions of our Catholic faith. Hundreds of hours go into the planning, practicing, rehearsing, organizing and decorating. St. Cyril's is blessed to have so many dedicated and devoted parishioners who bring great care and attention to our prayer and worship. Thank you to all who gave of their time and talents to make this a very special and Holy Week. During Lent I came across a prayer that I have been using every day. I keep a copy of it in my wallet. I would like to share it with you. It might be something that you can use periodically on those days when life gets nutty and stressful and you are searching for some "spiritual focus and direction." This prayer has been my spiritual compass that kept me pointing to Jesus' presence in my life.
Reach Out And Grasp The Lord's Hand

Father, I ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son and our Brother, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen. Easter Blessings Today's bulletin includes Easter greetings and blessings on behalf of our Pastoral Staff. Know that you and your family are always in our prayers. Also, enjoy reading the latest edition of our parish newsletter, entitled News from the Pews. It contains the good news of what is happening in the life of our parish community. I personally found the reflections by the members of the Parish Council to be a very inspiring article. Welcome to St. Cyril's As always, we welcome those who are visiting our parish and those who are new to St. Cyril's. If you frequently attend St. Cyril's please make sure that you are registered with us so that you will be able to receive important information about our parish throughout the year. Also, it is important for families to be registered with a parish so that important sacramental information can be recorded. Todays bulletin contains a registration form for new families. A Welcoming Brunch will be held on Sunday, April 15th at 11:30 AM for our new parishioners. It will take place in Fr. Sivore Hall which is located in the school. It is a great opportunity for me and our staff to meet and get to know new families. It also allows us to explain what is going on in the life of our parish and the various ways our parish reaches out to families. Happy Birthday, Pops! I would like to send a "Happy Birthday shoutout to my dad who just turned 86 on Thursday. I had to get a bigger cake!

Father, our source of life, I reach out with joy to grasp your hand; let me walk more readily in your ways. Guide me in your gentle mercy, for left to myself I cannot do your will. Fill my heart with your love and keep me faithful to the Gospel of Christ. Give me the grace to rise above my human weaknesses.

God Has Blessed Us...Easter Giving

As we celebrate Easter, we are aware of all that our Risen Lord gives to us. SS. Cyril & Methodius continues to carry on the mission and ministry of Jesus Christ today. Our parish is blessed by many generous parishioners, who share their time, talents and treasures in support of the life of our parish. We remain a vibrant parish because of these sacrifices and charitable giving. As we enter the fourth quarter of our fiscal year, our Easter collection remains an important part of the operating budget. Charitable giving, besides cash, may also include gifts of shares of stocks, mutual funds or bonds. In giving appreciated assets to your parish, you could avoid paying any capital gains tax on the items and your contribution may be tax-deductible. The church is allowed to sell the assets, and receive the benefits of the appreciated value without being taxed. Visit www.parishgift.org for more information or call the rectory at (630) 257-2776. Thank you for your generosity. May God bless you and your family.

For your information the following are requirements for the religious education program: 1. You must be a registered supporting parishioner to have a child in the religious education program. If you are not currently a registered parishioner and are planning on enrolling a student for the Fall please take care of registering for the parish now so it does not hold up your registration. 2. In order for your child to make their First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion in second grade they must complete first grade. 3. In order for your child to make their Confirmation in 8th grade they must complete grades 3 7. 4. If you are transferring from another religious education program I must have a transfer form from your old parish stating what grades your child has completed. 5. Everest Academy, Noonan Academy, Kingswood Academy, home schooled students and anyone else who attend a non-archdiocesan school who wish to make their First Holy Communion or Confirmation at St. Cyrils are required to register for the Religious Education Program for the second and eighth grade years. Dear Parents, Happy Easter from all of the students and the entire staff of SS. Cyril & Methodius School! We hope you enjoy this day celebrating the happiness and joy of the Resurrection of our Lord. Thank you to all of the members of the SS. Cyril & Methodius School Board of Specified Jurisdiction and to all of the volunteers who worked so hard to make both of our fish frys a huge success. Their commitment to our school is deeply appreciated. The funds generated by these dinners go to help our school. On Monday, March 19th our fourth graders presented the Living Stations of the Cross for our school and parish. Congratulations to them for a job well done and to their teachers Mrs. Hickey, Mr. Smith, and to their aide Mrs. Wilson for helping them to prepare.

Reasons to Register at SS. Cyril & Methodius Parish

Reasons to Register God calls each one of us by name, through Baptism, to be united in faith as Gods family. Registration is a sign of commitment and support to the overall life of a parish community. It indicates ones willingness to belong to our parish family. It is necessary that our Parish Staff has the basic information to contact and communicate with individual families. Telephone numbers and home addresses provide helpful information so that we can minister to families, especially in times of emergency. Every Catholic needs to have their sacramental information documented. Copies of ones Baptismal, First Communion, Confirmation and Marriage records are required at various times in our life. A family that plans to enroll their children in either our Parish School or Religious Education Program should be registered parishioners who actively support the parish, especially if they intend to have their children receive the Sacraments of the Church in the near future. A registered family is able to receive important information about the parish that often comes through a direct mailing. Sometimes a person is asked to serve as a godparent for a relative or friend. They are required to provide information stating that they are currently a registered parishioner, practicing their faith and supporting the overall life of their parish. Note that our Parish Mailing List is only used for church purposes and never shared with businesses or other organizations. Dlaczego warto zarejestrowa si do parafii?
