Fall 2008
HCOM requires two bound copies of your Capstone Portfolio. Your Capstone
Professor will return one copy to you for display in the Festival and this will
remain your personal copy. The second copy will be archived in HCOM.
2. PAPER: 25-30lb paper for contents; heavier stock for Front and Back
covers.
4. FONT and FONT SIZE: Do not mix fonts throughout the portfolio.
Size:12pt Times, New Times Roman, Palatino, or other easily legible
font. Note: 12 pt differs in size. Too large looks elementary, too small,
too compressed are hard to read. Avoid cutesy. Test by printing a
page and determine whether a whole page of that font is a good size
and easy to read.
All titles on sub and Divider pages should be ALL CAPS, centered,
and in the middle of the page. CWSA students include a divider called
CREATIVE PORTFOLIO between the Personal Essay or Paper and the
creative work. The Works Cited page or Chicago Style Bibliography
comes after Creative Work; no separate divider page.
Both title and image should be centered in the middle third of the
page and your eye should go immediately to the title. Remaining
information is centered at the bottom of the page. Title should be
in the same font as the body of the paper, however in a larger size
and bolded. Use all caps and italics if you like. Play around with
what looks best.
c. TABLE OF CONTENTS: This is the last thing you do; see end of
this document for details. Paginated Benmayor ii – do not
include in Table of Contents.
The Creative Writing and Social Action writers will preface each
piece in the portfolio with a few paragraphs that introduce each
piece. It’s up to you how you want to display these on the page
= whether under the title of the creative piece, or as an untitled
introductory text; each piece with its introduction, however,
should begin on a separate page.
