Within the Domaine lies the 3,500 acre Frdrica Nature Reserve which is the islands first wildlife area protected by the Mauritian Wildlife Foundation. The reserve extends from sea level to 400 metres altitude and is home to an abundance of endemic wildlife that is unique to Mauritius.
