Thuy : Ladies and gentlemen. We have the pleasure to invite you to our company discussion. What's meant by "globalization"?

What are it advantages and disadvantages to a country's economy ??? My name is Thuy. I was chairman of the a multi-national corporation.Today, I summon all the members of the board of directors in this discussion to find out about: What's meant by "globalization"? What are it advantages and disadvantages to a country's economy? This is an important topic related to the development and growth of our corporation. So, I hope you will focus and excited join with us.Thank U !!! So,Mr Thng!As the Director of Development ,Could you tell us about the definition of globalization ??? Thng: Of course,"Globalization is the concept of the diversity and complexity of the integrating economic, social, technology and culture are seen as interdependent , the integration and interaction growing between the people and businesses in remote locations around the world. " This is the simplest definition of globalization Thuy : Wow I understand, anything else??? Thng : In general,Globalization is a concept used to describe the changes in society and the economy in the world, created by the linker and the increasing exchanges between countries, organizations or individuals in the corner the cultural, economic, etc. on a global scale. Especially within the economy, globalization is mostly used to indicate the effects of general trade and trade liberalization or "free trade" in particular. Also at the economic level, people just see the flow of capital in global scale accompanied by the flow of trade, engineering, technology, information and culture Today,we know that globalization refers to the increasing unification of the world's economic order through reduction of such barriers to international trade as tariffs, export fees, and import quotas. It describes the process by which regional economies, societies, and cultures have become integrated through communication, transportation, and trade

In the other side, its usually recognized as being driven by a combination of economic, technological, sociocultural, political, and biological factors. The term can also refer to the transnational circulation of ideas, languages, or popular culture through acculturation. An aspect of the world which has gone through the process can be said to be globalized Thuy : And I heard that against this view, an alternative approach stresses how globalization has actually decreased inter-cultural contacts while increasing the possibility of international and intra-national conflict. Is this correct ??? Thng : Yes, completely accurate Thuy:Next,to continue the discussion,I suggest Miss Thao , my private secretary , present to us the history of the formation process of globalization. Thao : Of course, It is my responsibility. The historical origins of globalization are the subject of on-going debate. Though several scholars confirm the origins of globalization in the modern era, others regard it as a phenomenon with a long history The first phase of "modern globalization" began to break down at the beginning of the 20th century, with World War I, but resurfaced after World War II. This resurgence was partly the result of planning by politicians to break down borders hampering trade It was also driven by the global expansion of multinational corporations based in the United States and Europe, and worldwide exchange of new developments in science, technology and products, with most significant inventions of this time having their origins in the Western world. Tra : According to my understanding,I think that Development and growth of international transport and telecommunication played a decisive role in modern globalization. Thuy: Wow. It was a profound ideas. Thanks for your comment, Director of Strategic,Miss Tra!!!

Thao : But not only that. In the 1990 decade, the growth of low cost communication networks allowed work done using a computer to be moved to low wage locations for many job types. This included accounting, software development, and engineering design. In 21 century, much of the industrialized world entered into a deep recession. Some analysts say the world is going through a period of deglobalization after years of increasing economic integration. Thuy : Thank u,Thao!!! Now, We understand the concept summary & the history summary of globalization. So,I want to find out more about it advantages and disadvantages to a country's economy. Towards my personally, I have researched this issue before starting the discussion. And I have collected some information . It was written in this report. right now. I will read some of the main ideas important We all know that Globalization involves one firm procuring form, manufacturing in, and selling in many different countries. Consequently, There has been an increasing trend in the world towards globalization is characterized by trends such as:

Increased trade across national boundaries. One company having subsidiary companies and plants in many countries. One company procuring material required from multiple countries. One company selling its products in many different countries. Growth of joint ventures and technical collaborations between companies from different countries. Lowering of trade barriers and simplified import and export procedures.

Globalization offers many advantages to the people and businesses. These include:

Greater employment opportunities for people. Availability of greater variety of goods and services to the consumers. More competitive price to the competitors. Ability of companies to achieve lower costs.

Access to bigger markets to business firms. Faster and wider spread of new technologies across the world.

It was a bit of knowledge I found about this topic. Next,Miss Tra,If you dont mind, I want to hear my director of strategy provides for everyone's here about the disadvantages of globalization Tra : Course,It is my duty. Apart from the advantages mentioned above, globalization also has many other disadvantages, including Unrestricted globalization can hamper the development of less developed countries. Smaller firms may lack the resources to compete internationally and therefore may be forced out of business. Countries become increasingly dependent on other countries for meeting their needs for goods and services. This can become a major disadvantage in situations like war. Adverse economic condition in one country can escalate to other countries and may even adopt global proportion. It may also lead to faster spread of infectious disease, for people animals and plants. Such infection may be carried through, people or goods.

In fact, some people fear cultural and social integration even more than economic integration. The fear of cultural hegemony haunts many. Limiting ourselves to economic integration, one can see this happen through the three channels of trade in goods and services, movement of capital and flow of finance Thuy: Very good, I appreciate your understanding,Tra!!! As you know, Our corporation's headquarters has been located in Vietnam . Therefore, I want us discuss a bit about the process of globalization in Vietnam. Th : I fully support your suggestion. As director of marketing at the Vietnamese market, I have many ideas want to share in this discussion. Thuy: It's so wonderful. Please continue!!!

Th : Thank u!!! According to my knowledge, When the first wave of globalization came to Vietnam, the economic reform and the "open door" policy started and then, actively invite foreigners and their companies to work in Vietnam while seeking to increase its export. The impacts of globalization are most visible in the big cities. Business, domestic and foreign, is booming. In the commercial districts, the signs are in at least two languages. Hundreds of foreigners, tourists or businesspeople, come and go on a daily basis. People of all ages develop a great interest in foreign languages especially English and the language schools cannot meet the demands. The "modern" values such as the desire for independence, wealth, and success have become increasing prevalent among the younger generations who are in direct contact with the globalization process However, there is also the rising wave of "counter-globalization". Never before has the traditional culture been enthusiastically promoted. From my point of view, the greatest effect of globalization is its ability to "activate" life. Since its arrival, our country has been much more dynamic. There have been drastic changes in class relationships in Vietnam since the country carried out the open-door policy to boost international integration, develop a multi-sectoral economy and attract foreign investment. Therefore, in general, globalization is positive. Thuy: Thank u,Mr Th. However , in addition to immediate benefits , I think in VietNam , the polarization will become evident over between the rich and the poor and the gap in incomes and living standards are increasingly on the rise In each locality, the gap between the rich and the poor is even hundred and thousands times bigger. This difference is attributed to many causes, both justifiable and unjustifiable but in the end it is an indispensable impact of economic globalisation

Despite this, after the discussions today, I understand that. An undeniable fact, globalization has been reshaping the world irresistibly and every individual can feel effects. What do you think about that??? Tt ca : We all agree with u!!! Thuy : Wraps for discussion today, I want to hear more ideas and questions from our guests. So please, Let me know your opinions !!!
