Thes fossils that they found are the only ones of their kind, which make them unique. Ryan, Ph.D., curator of vertebrate paleontology at The Cleveland Museum of Natural History, lead author on the research. Thus, this is a very important global issue for paleontologists. As Micheal Ryan Ph.D. said there are many gaps in the fossil record. Now that we lled 2 spaces, the scientists are getting a clearer picture of the history of dinosaurs. ! Additionally, the Unescoceratops Koppelhusae measured around 1 to 2 meters in length and weighed less than 91 kilograms. Also, its teeth were rounder and lower than the other dinosaurs of its kind. Even though the whole fossil was unearthed its left jaw was discovered 1995 by Currie, who named it after his wife Eva Koppelhus, Ph.D.. Also, its name comes from the Greek word ceratops, which mean horned face. ! The Gryphoceratops Morrisoni was a fully grown adult even though it was only one-half meter in length. This means that researchers have found the smallest adultsized horned dinosaur and one of the smallest plant-eating dinosaurs. One of the authors said about this fossil, "Small-bodied dinosaurs are typically poorly represented in the fossil record, which is why fragmentary remains like these new leptoceratopsids can make a big contribution to our understanding of dinosaur ecology and evolution." It is also interesting that its lower right jaw was discovered in 1950, but it took 62 years to nd the rest of the fossil. Also, the name honors Ian Morrison, who discovered how the bones t together. ! ! One of the things I found was most interesting about this article is that scientist found two more fossils that they had never heard of before. I also nd it interesting that there were dinosaurs that existed that were only one-half meter long which can be compared to your pet dog. Even though this is a major discovery in the world of paleontology, I have always wondered how they know the colors and pattern of the dinosaurs skin.
