to previous assignments. They also need to be able to work independently. How will you follow up or extend this lesson? This assignment could be extended by inviting a local leader (mayor, governor, police officer, etc.) into our classroom to talk more about the community. What can you do for students who dont grasp the concepts? I would allow students who dont grasp the concept to choose between drawing their answers for the community handbook, and creating a graphic organizer for them to organize some of their thoughts on this subject. Where do you anticipate having problems with this lesson? For me, I feel like time is always an issue. Will this lesson be too long? Too short? I would have to actually carry out this lesson before I could adjust that. Students might get off task during this. I would have to make sure I had classroom management under control. Otherwise I think that this is a good review before the end of the unit.

7. Materials: Houghton Mifflin Social Studies textbook Communities p. 256-257. White computer paper Markers, pencils Magazines, newspapers, and Internet as resources if available.
