Qus.1. Calculate the maximum slope and deflection for following cases:-
(a)
(b)
(e)
yB=((wa4/8EI)
( B= (wl3/6EI)-(w(l-a)3/6EI),
w(l-a)3a/6EI ] (i)
Qus.2. Determine :
a) Slope at the left support, b) Deflection under the load.
c) Max. deflection, of a simply supported beamof length 5m, which is
carrying a point load of 5kN at a distance of 3m from the left end. Take E=2105 MPa and I=108 mm4. (Ans: -0.00035rad. ,0.6mm, 0.6173mm)
Qus.6. A beam ABC of length 9m has one support of the left end & the other
support at distance of 6m from the left end. The beam carries a point load of 1kN at right end and also carries a udl of 4kN/m over a length of 3m starting at a distance of 1m from the left support. Determine slope & deflection at point C. (Ans: -0.0010575rad. ,yc = -2.6325mm)
(Ans yc = 6.66mm
Qus.8. A beam 6m long is loaded as shown in the fig. If the flexural rigidity
(EI) of the beam is 8104 kN-m2 ,find the deflection at point C. (Ans:yc = -11.66mm)
(Ans : 5.04mm
,x=2.46m, 5.7mm )
Qus.10. Find the slope & deflection at the important points for the given
beam. Take flexural rigidity as EI.
G= 10.44/EI,
(Ans: A=0.0012rad, C=0, B=0.0012rad, yc= 6.64mm, yD= 1.2mm, yE= 1.2mm, yF=76.85/EI, yA= yB =0)
Qus.2. A 3m propped cantilever beam carries a udl of 2kN/m over its entire
span and is supported at its free end. Find the prop reaction when free end does not yield. Take EI=104kNm2 .
(Ans : RB=2.85KN
