Worship----5th Sunday July 31, 2011 Welcome On this 5th Sunday when we gather to Worship God through our

Service to those whom God has always had a tender heart, we welcome you, in the name of Jesus Christ, who is our Lord and Savior. Our prayer is that through service you will be touched with the compassion of Christ and continue to serve others on a daily basis as the Church seeks to witness to the Love of Christ in this time and place. Do we have visitors today who would like to be introduced? Let us now hold a moment of silence as we prepare our hearts in prayer for our Worship of Service. (Remain Silent for about 1-2 minutes) Call to Worship (Based on Psalm 107) O give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; for his steadfast love endures forever. Let the redeemed of the Lord say so! He turns rivers into a desert, springs of water into thirsty ground. Let the redeemed of the Lord say so! He turned a desert into pools of water, a parched land into springs of water. Let the redeemed of the Lord say so! There he lets the hungry live and they establish a town to live in; sowing fields and planting vineyards. Let the redeemed of the Lord say so! Come, let us worship the Lord, His steadfast love endures forever!

Let Us Pray Gracious and Holy God, we come to you this morning because your Spirit has drawn us to this place to worship you through acts of compassion and service of love. We are aware of your Word, when you told us that when we do it to the least of these we do it also to you. We are also aware of how small our gifts of service and time truly are; yet we are encouraged by the Word that reminds us that no matter how small we may feel our gifts are, God has the power to increase them. So therefore we boldly ask

you to increase our meager gifts of time and service that multitudes may be fed not only with food that fills the belly but also with food that feeds the soul. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen

Scripture Matthew 14:13-21 Read the Scripture aloud and ask the congregation to share a word that they heard that was significant to them. Read the Scripture aloud again and ask the congregation to share a phrase they heard that was significant to them. Read the Scripture aloud again and ask the congregation to share what they think the scripture has to say to us today. (Ask an usher to receive the morning offering) Prayer of Thanksgiving and Dedication. God of Abundance, thank-you for using us to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with one another and the world. May all we do today serve as loaves and fishes that we freely share with those who are hungry and with whom you desire to dwell. Accept our meager gifts and do with them what you will to meet the needs of those whom the church serves. In the name of Jesus we pray the prayer that he taught us. Our Father Todays projects (Pat Plank or someone from the Mission Committee) Commissioning ( congregation stands and joins hands) Go out and Serve the Lord; Have courage; Hold on to what is good; Return no one evil for evil. Strengthen the fainthearted; Support the weak; and help the suffering; Honor all people; Love and serve the Lord, Rejoicing in the power of the Holy Spirit. Amen Now, let our Service Continue
