FINAL DECLARATION

2nd INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE OF WFTU WORKING YOUTH Today concludes the 2nd International Conference of Working Youth of the WFTU organized by the WFTU, the CTC and the Cuban Communist Youth in Havana, Cuba on 29 and 30 April 2012 on the subject of "Youth Unemployment". For two days, 135 young trade union workers from WFTU affiliated and friendly organizations from 35 countries around the World discussed with maturity, enthusiasm and inspired by the principles and values of the international class-oriented trade union movement. The 2nd conference of the WFTU Working Youth is taking place in a period of deepening of the capitalist comprehensive crisis. It synchronously occurred in the imperialist centers, in the U.S., the European Union, Japan and it embraces a large number of capitalist countries. It is deep and protracted. It is deep and long-lasting. It is a crisis which enhances even more the sharpening of the basic contradiction between the social character of production and work and the private, capitalist ownership of its results. Monopolies are fighting each other over who is to secure for itself a greater share of the global market. It is confirmed by the course of capitalist development that the interests of employers and workers cannot coexist. Because of this development it exists and it is continuously increasing unemployment, as well as child labor, propagation and drug addiction, the abolition of labor rights, exploitation of natural resources at the hands of monopolies and imperialist aggression, which, also in the case of the capitalist crisis can lead to war. In this attack the monopolies, the capital and its instruments have on their side the big media and they carry out a media war against the working class and youth by hiding and slandering their struggles and demands. Against this attack, it is our indispensable duty: 1. The integration of young workers in the struggle, so that they will organize their struggle
within the unions in a line of conflict with the forces of the capital, the monopolies and the employers forces.

2. The strengthening of ideological, political and trade union education, on the values of the class struggle to raise the class consciousness of young workers. In this effort we will promote and circulate the Athens Pact and other WFTU documents that reflect the positions of the class-oriented international trade union movement. 3. For the implementation of these objectives, the conference will promote the action plan approved by the delegates. The new WFTU Youth Secretariat will be responsible to materialize this action plan. Among other initiatives, there is the promotion and participation in the WFTU International Action Day on October 3rd as the primary task of all our militant forces to promote the participation of young workers in this event. Our work creates all wealth from our hands at the factories and fields, on the streets and shops, at schools, laboratories, research centers and transport around the world. We move forward for May Day in Havana, to learn from the lessons of the World Federation of Trade Unions and also to contribute with our ideas and experiences to see how can we make the youth to struggle for the future. We will continue to strengthen the WFTU. We will continue the anti-imperialist struggle without compromise against the capital and its power in each workplace for young workers. Until the victory of our class, in all countries, for the construction of Socialism. Because Socialism is the future of youth. We thank Cuba for its hospitality, for their solidarity with the young workers of the World. The WFTU and its working youth support the resistance of the Cuban Revolution in these more than 50 years of cruel U.S. blockade and we demand the release of five Cuban heroes prisoners of the Empire.
