CIRCLE A circle is the locus of a point which moves such that it is equidistant from a fixed point.

The fixed point is the centre of the circle.

Parts of a circle

a)

Centre The centre, O, of a circle is a fixed point which is equidistant from all points on the circle.

b)

Circumference The circumference is the perimeter of a circle.

c)

Radius The radius of a circle is a line drawn from the centre of the circle to the circumference of the circle.
