Act III Scene I

[Enter Banquo] Banquo: (with suspicion) All of your prophesies came true, King, Cawdor, and Glamis, but Im pretty sure that youve killed the king to get them all. Why wont my prophesies come true? [Enter Macbeth] Macbeth: I hear our cousins are hiding because they wont confess that they committed the murder on Duncan. Are you and Fleance leaving now? Banquo: Yeah, peace. Macbeth: Alright, bye. [Exit Banquo] If I can kill the king then someone else could kill me. So I need to take out Banquo and his son so that I wont have to worry about losing my crown. [Enter Murderers] Have you thought about my offer? Ive been nice to you all along but Banquo has lied to you all. First Murderer: Yes we have, thanks for telling us. Macbeth: Are you sure you can handle this? First Murderer: Were men, of course we can handle it! Macbeth: Alright, heres the plan. Youre gonna kill Banquo and Fleance, and if you mess up Ill hunt you down and Ill gut you like a fish. Murderers: Okay. Macbeth: Its all Banquos fault. Hes the reason that your lives are miserable. Murderers: Okay. Macbeth: So yeah, you have to kill them tonight and you have to be careful that you dont get caught. Wait for me in the other room. [Exit Murderers] Banquo, pray that your going to go to heaven cause tonight youll find out. [Exit All]

Act III Scene II

[Enter Lady Macbeth] Lady Macbeth: It will be safer to kill Banquo, than give him the chance of stealing our crown. [Enter Macbeth] Macbeth, why do you keep thinking about Duncans murder? We cant take it back now. Forget about it. Whats done is done. Macbeth: Soon enough we will eat in fear, and when we sleep, we will be shaken by our terrible dreams. It would be better to be with the dead, at peace, than to be tortured by our own mind. Lady Macbeth: Oh come on, get over it! You have guests here! Macbeth: I will, and theyre your guests too. We arent safe now, we have a reputation to uphold, so put on your mask and hide all of our secrets from them. Lady Macbeth: You need to stop. Macbeth: Arrghhyou know Banquo and Fleance are still alive?

Lady Macbeth: Not for long. Macbeth: They will be killed. Lady Macbeth: Whats your plan? Macbeth: Its better than you dont know until this is all over. Hurry up night, so that the deed can be done. [Exit All]

Third Murderer: I hear horses! [Enter Banquo and Fleance] Banquo: Could I have some light over there?!? Second Murderer: There they are, just as expected. [Murderers Attack, First Murderer Puts Out The Light] Banquo: Ahh! Run Fleance! You can take revenge for me! [Banquo Dies, Fleance Escapes] Third Murderer: We got one but the other escaped. First Murderer: Oh well, lets go report to Macbeth! [Exit All]

Act III Scene IV

[Enter Macbeth And Murderers] Macbeth: Did you kill Banquo? First Murderer: Yeah. Macbeth: You guys are the best murderers! First Murderer: Well, Fleance escaped. Macbeth: [Sarcasm] Oh. Great! Now Im still in trouble. At least Banquos dead though. First Murderer: Yeah, hes down in the ditch. Macbeth: Good boy. Now go. [Exit Murderers, Enter Lady Macbeth] Lady Macbeth: Your guests arent feeling welcome. [Enter Ghost Of Banquo] Macbeth: Thanks for reminding me! Have a good meal! Lennox: Have a seat Macbeth. Macbeth: The tables full. Im not feeling well and dont say that I did this! Lady Macbeth: Macbeth is getting old, hell be back later. Dont mind him. Lady Macbeth: [To Macbeth] Are you a man? Macbeth: Yes I am.

Lady Macbeth: No youre not, youre just a coward! Are you seeing things? Macbeth: Dont you see there? Look! Lady Macbeth: Have you lost your mind? Macbeth: I saw him, I saw Banquo! People used to die and that was the end. Thats the way it used to be. Now they come back and haunt their killer. [Exit Ghost of Banquo] Lady Macbeth: Your friends are expecting you! Macbeth: Right! Lets go! [Enter Ghost of Banquo] Go away! Youre dead! Lady Macbeth: Please excuse him friends! Macbeth: I would be a man while fighting ferocious beasts, but I cant be a man when I am facing Banquos Ghost! [Exit Ghost of Banquo] Alright, with you gone I can be a man once again. Lady Macbeth: Well that was a bit rude! Macbeth: How can you possibly keep yourself together? Im falling apart! Ross: Whats up? Lady Macbeth: Hes mad, dont talk to him. Good night. Lennox: Good night. [Exit Lennox and Ross] Macbeth: Nature is going to give me away, as it does for most murders! What time is it? Lady Macbeth: Almost morning. Macbeth: Tomorrow Im going to see the weird sisters so that theyll tell me more. I want to know the worst of what will happen to me. Im so far into this that going back is out of the question. Theres no going back. There have been really strange things happening that I need to figure out. [Exit All]

Act III Scene V

[Thunder. Enter Three Witches and Hecate] First Witch: Whats the matter Hecate? You look very angry. Hecate: I have a pretty good reason to be angry, dont I? You went behind my back and told Macbeth his three prophesies! I am your leader, so I decide what evil things are supposed to happen, but you never gave me a chance to show off my evil powers. You can make this up to me though; just meet me in the pit by the river of hell. Macbeth will finally learn his true destiny. I have to go now, cause I have to do a lot of evil things before tomorrow. Im going to make Macbeth see illusions in order to confuse him and make him go crazy. Hes gonna be tricked into thinking that he is better than fate, but oh is he wrong [Exit Hecate] First Witch: Hurry! Shes gonna be back soon! We have to go! [Exit All]

Act III Scene VI

[Enter Lennox and a Lord]

Lennox: What Ive already said shows that we think alike. I have a funny feeling about what has been going on lately. Macbeth was jealous of Duncan so he killed him, and Banquo must have been killed by Fleance because he fled the scene after the murder occurred. It doesnt make much sense to me that Malcom and Donalbain would kill their own father. [Sarcasm]This has made Macbeth so sad, and he was being so loyal when he decided to kill the two guards while they were still drunk and sleeping. That was the right thing to do wasnt it? I think that Macbeth has handled things pretty well though. I guess Macduff isnt on the best of terms with Macbeth right now, cause he decided not to go to his big feast. Where is Macduff anyway? Lord: Malcom is in England, where his castle is, and Macduff went there to ask King Edward for help. He wants to form an alliance with the people of Northumberland. He wants to make peace so that life can return to its peaceful ways. Macbeth heard about this plan and he got really mad, so hes getting ready for war. Lennox: Did Macbeth tell Macduff to get back to Scotland? Lord: He did, but Macduff told a messenger that he wouldnt come back. Lennox: Someone should tell Macduff that Scotland needs him. He is being ruled by a very bad person right now. [Exit All]
