Eng.State.University Economics.Department Nilka Rama, PA 001857 Dear Mr. Wilson, I am writing this letter to express my interest for the Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics at The English State University. If I were to choose one word to describe myself, it would have to be independent. At the age of six, my parents divorced, and I was left in the care of my grandparents. This was one of the turning points in my life that hastened my maturation. So I had to learn to think and act independently. All the challenges I experienced strengthened my resolve to improve myself. I consider myself a diligent student and voracious reader. I read news magazines and journals for relevant news updates. I have a strong background in Mathematics and Science, excelling in subjects such as Calculus, Algebra, Probability and Statistics. I believe that Mathematics and other subjects such as Computer Science and Marketing, which also appeal to me, can be useful tools to the modern economist. I am looking forward to putting various skills to work. I believe that to be an effective economist, one has to cultivate as many skills as possible, including good interpersonal relations and marketing know-how. I acknowledge the fact that most learning takes place outside the classroom. I feel that the practical skills I have gained from extracurricular activities and volunteer work like taking part in the fundraising campaign for victims of the flood in Shkodra City of Albania may be put to good use. I believe that with the distinguished faculty and state-of-the-art facilities of The English State University, I can fully develop my potentials and chart my chosen career path. I hope you will take a favorable decision regarding my admission to Economics undergraduate program of Pennsylvania State University. Thank you very much. Sincerely, Nilka Rama

Competition entry Throughout the sporting world, debate will rage as to who would be the greatest sportsperson of the past century. There are a number sportsmen and women on which followers could place their sporting bet that could be regarded as the best in their business and argument amongst supporters has always raged on. If you are arguing the case for a champion heavy weight, here are some potential candidate: Bobby Orr One of the greatest Hockey (or Ice Hockey as majority of the world refers to it) player ever. He has made a reputation of being exceptional at the sport. Pol Amat The Spanish player rated as the best field hockey player ever. Some might say the BEST would have to be Jamie Dwyer but that is more of a discussion for some other time. Roger Federer A number ending argument - Who is the best tennis player - Federer or Sampras. Federer is definately one of the best but I think he has a long way to go. Mark Spitz The person who revolutionized the swimming with this records. Mark is definitely the best in the sport. Sir Donald Bradman Not many people know about cricket especially not in the US. However, this is a reasonably popular sport in the UK, Australia, India and Pakistan etc. Sir Donald was the batsman who made the sport what it is. Pele The person who made football/soccer what it is today. The revolutionizer of Brazilian football. Wayne Gretzky The retired ice hockey player. Ronaldinho Ronaldinho is currently one of greatest and one of the most paid soccer players in the world. Ted Williams

Ted Williams was an amazing baseball player with excellent stats. He passed away in 2002 but the legend lives on. Tom Brady One of the top two football players, Tom always goes head to dead with Manning. It seems like a never ending argument i.e. who is the best football player of all time. Cristiano Ronaldo Currently the most expensive player in the sport, CR is one of the greatest of all time. Babe Ruth The legend Babe Ruth dominated the sport for twenty years. Lance Armstrong I'll be very honest. He is the only person I know in this sport. Peyton Manning The only competition that Tom Brady has, Peyton Manning is (in my view), the best football player to ever come on the field. Michael Schumacher Similar to Lance Armstrong, Mr. Schumacher is the only person I know in the racing arena. Pete Sampras In my books, Pete is the greatest of all time. Federer is not too far off but at the moment Mr. Sampras is the best at Tennis. Diego Maradona Maradona had the best movies in the sports. I am quite sure he is the person who gave everyone else ideas about the unique movies that take place in football today. Tiger Woods The best gold player, even with all this scandals and what not. Mr. Wood wins absolutely every tournament.and Michael Jordan Michael Jordon was a very commercial guy but he was actually a very good player as well. Muhammad Ali

Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee...the best quote of the century. Muhammad Ali was awarded the best sportsman of the century.

Dear Sir or Madam I have just returned from Pantheon , The Colosseum, where I spent a 3 days on one of your historical tours. I would like to express my general satisfaction with the holiday , during wich I learnt a lot about Romas history thanks to your fantastic giude. I feel I should, however, draw yourr attention to some incidents wich occurred, wich may help you to improve your services quality in the future. First, the giuded tour was meant to last 2 days but the giude was sick the day we had to return and you didnt send a replacement. So we werent provided with a sostitute.and the giude book wasnt as good as it was supposed to be because it didnt include some of the information that was added oraly by the tour giude . Finally I was surprised to know that admitions to monuments were not included in the price and the restaurants we went to offered good meals but at a very expensive price. As a result of this experience , I would really like to make a number of recommendations before going on the next tour.

Dear Sir , I am financing the committee of a Medieval Society and I must emphase that we are really disatisfied with the way you reported the annual Medieval Fair last Sunday . You said that not many people came at this event and the ones who came were critical of it.While in fact the ones who arrived were many , but the problem is that there werent any parking space so they had to leave or arrived after the display ended. Furthermore , you said the visitors were disappointed by the medieval dancing display. Indeed this is not true! Many people liked it .We received emails from them complimenting the success of the display. One of them said A magnificent day! I truly loved the music and dancing very professional . And about the archery: I do not think it was tidious because the children actually loved it ! The last but not least important thing I must mention is that there were displayed many traditional craft skills and cookery , even though there was lack of space. To sum up, it was a very successful display and we were displeased by your report and if you do not print another article we will have to take some further measures such as contacting with a lawyer. Yours sincerely Nilka Rama

Essay Theme : It is better to live alone than in parental home It seems that nowadays there is a tendency to live alone baring the idea that it will give you the all privacy you need and the oportunity to progress in life without really depending on anybody else. But can Albanian teenagers manage to live alone ?! I guess we aren't prepared for this type of changes in our life. In one hand, there are some reasons wich leads this group of youngsters to make this type of decisions and wich actually tells them right ! To start with the fact that they must make a living without depending on their parents and also the need to feel indipendent and free to choose and decide. So this is the main reason why they choose to live alone. On the other side it is true that albanians are not actually used to this type of life. Albanian youngsters depend a lot on their parents economically. They are used to get a house separate from their parents when they get married if ever. But even in this rule usually make an exception the younger brother whom will have to take care of their parents and live together. This means that they dont have the right oportunities to make a living in their own, they dont have privious succesful examples, and they dont have neather economical bases or opportunities to create them. To sum up, whilst some people argue that living in our parental home is better than living alone, many are deciding to do the contrary and take the risk of remaining without any support, just in order to proove their survival abilities and why not to give a good example for everyone to follow.

It is not what you know but whom you know that counts You must have heared many times the phrase "It's not what you know but who you know that counts". This is really important when it comes to determining the success. This saying actually has found an equivalence in many languages, and it is related to the term Rely wich means depening on with full trust or confidence. I strongly believe this is true. But what about the others opinion? Are there any arguments wich contrast this stance ?! Some would argue that it is more important to have the right knowledege to have whatever you want in life. They cannot rely on an employer's goodwill for a long time if your performance is not at the right level.Success, according to them, depends only on the depth of the knowledge you have about the profesion or in the aim you have in your life. Furthermore, some less succeful students are assessed more favourably because of their parents influences but this does not save them from facing the real life.

I personally believe, however, that it is not all about the knoledge or wisdom, or neather about how many people you know, but how well you know them, how well they know you, and how well they know the people you want to meet, this is what really counts. In other words, when deiciding to apply for a job or whenever you need an incentive from wich to begin you will also need the influential group. Wich means that it is a lot easier to get the golden opportunities if you know the right people.Even though our position will depend a lot on what we are capable of and our knowledges, having a good influence helps a lot, it may be the best start for every person who aims the highest hights. In conclusion, I must agree that even if you get the right opportunies by knowing the right people, it is the knowledge that will help you hold on your position and also progress as much as it is possible.

Dear Jane,

I'm very pleased that we're going to be penfriends. Its wonderful to have someone with whom I can share my opinions and experiences. In this first letter, I'll write a few words about myself and it would be great if you could do the same when youll be writing to me. I live in Tirana, the capital town of Albania. My house is situated in the outskirts of the town and it takes a lot of time to get to the town centre by bus. Despite this disadvantage, I like my house very much because its spacious. My parents built and decorated it. My father has his own business and my mother takes care of the house. I also have a sister who lives in Vancouver, Canada. She is doing her Ph.D. in eighteenth century British literature. I am a pet lover and have a dog, a cat, a canary, and two fish. They need a lot of attention. I play with my dog and cat every day. I feed my pets two times a day and walk my dog every evening. Music is my hobby. I love rock and metal. My favorite band is Metallica. I have lots of CDs and I listen to them whenever I have some free time. I also like cycling. I wish I could ride a bike every day, but I usually have no time. I go to the 3rd Year of study in Foreign Languages. I chose a english branch because I like english. I also go to a music school. I play the violin and the piano. This is why I have little, if any, free time. At the moment Im working very hard. A new school year has started and I have lots of books to read, hundreds of new English words to memorize, and many papers to write. I hope you're not as busy as I am and can reply quickly.

Im looking forward to hearing from you soon,

Nilka.

Report Introduction The aim of this report is to outline the positive and negative features of advertising in my country. Taking into consideration about advertisers and advertising tools I will discuss mostly about the effect that media has in the large opinion masses and suggest some changes that may be done in order to improve the quality of information provided for the audience and lower the negativ effects that mass media has. What mass media and what does its influential power consists of Mass media are media forms designed to reach the largest audience possible. They include television, movies, radio, newspapers, magazines, books, records, video games and the internet. Many studies have been conducted in the past century to measure the effects of mass media on the population in order to discover the best techniques to influence it. From those studies emerged the science of Communications, which is used in marketing, public relations and politics. Mass communication is a necessary tool to insure the functionality of a large democracy; it is also a necessary tool for a dictatorship. It all depends on its usage.

Advertisers bases of information and harmful but profiting influencences Advertisers know that they cannot outright make false claims, because any claim they make must be supported by some kind of statistic, according to the law. However, advertisers can and often do bend and curve the truth for their own benefit and in order to promote and advertise own product. Company can exaggerate certain features of their products or they can make vague and ambiguous claims that sound good. Of course any negative features of the product wont be mentioned. Advertisements can be deceitful, especially for younger population who spends days in front of TV screen and watch aggressive and false advertising in between popular shows. Conditioning and false trendsetting

But, in order to hypnotize mass population, companies need to create trends that customers will follow. This is the true purpose of advertising today. Advertisers have found out that if they make a product, and make customers believe that their product will make them happy, sales will skyrocket. To fulfill that, advertisers must bombard customers with images and false claims for hours every day patiently, until people start to believe in certain things.

Once a trend and its image for advertising purposes have been created, conditioning can begin. Customers become addicted to products that they usually dont need, and thats the real image of our society of over consumerism. Today, because of ad conditioning and trendsetting, judgments are made on what kind of clothes people wear, what shampoo and kitchen cleaner they use, and not on who we really are. This leads to a certain degree of social discrimination and emotional insecurity, especially in younger population. In order to be accepted and cool, you need to spend. Recommendations The media plays a significant role in forming and influencing people's attitudes and behaviour. Child abuse and the media drew attention to the essential role of the media in increasing society's awareness of, and response to, child abuse and neglect. So there must be some more strict rules puted by the gouvernment to mass media.Understanding media influences, and how to use the media constructively, may thus be an essential tool for those who advocate for children, young people, and their families.

Jan. 22, 2012 Ms. Amy Monroe Manager ABC Company 1 Corporate Way Sometown, CA 55555 Dear Ms. Monroe : Thank you for meeting with me this morning to discuss the executive assistant position. I enjoyed our conversation, and I am very excited about the possibility of joining your team. I know what it takes to run a busy and successful insurance office. In my last position as an administrative assistant for XYZ Company, I helped manage all aspects of the operation, handling tasks such as bookkeeping, customer service, claims processing, report preparation and ongoing communications with the district manager. You mentioned that you need an assistant who has strong people skills, and this is an area in which I excel. At XYZ Company, I helped the manager build a loyal client base by consistently providing excellent service. My last supervisor said, John is one of the hardest-working employees I have known. His friendly and professional customer-service skills helped the firm achieve a 20 percent revenue increase last year, and I couldnt have done it without him. I dont see the executive assistant role as a punch-the-clock, 9-to-5 job; I will be your right hand - helping you manage the day-to-day operations, volunteering for special projects, and ensuring the company is positioned for growth and increased profitability.

Again, thank you for considering me for this exciting opportunity. As you requested, Im enclosing a list of professional references. Please feel free to call me if you need additional information, have any questions or would like to offer me the job! Thank you for your time, and I look forward to hearing from you. Sincerely, Nilka Rama
