SYNOPSIS AEGON Religare Life Insurance Company INTRODUCTION

Human resource management (HRM) is recently a more popularized title for the management of the people within the organization Management Human of resource is an important organizational resolve because optimum utilization of the other important organization resources, such as finance, technology, material, etc., is dependent not only on the quantity of the Human resources, but also on how well they are managed. HRM functions play a special and a significant role in the management and development of human resource. That part of the Human resource is known as Human resource development. Training is a short term leasing process, which is application specific intended for improving skill or knowledge which has immediate application to the benefit of the individual as well as the organization. Development is the process of transition of an employee from a lower level of ability, skill and knowledge to a higher level. This transition is influenced by education, training, work experience and environment. This will improve value of individual employee in terms of his self development, career growth and contribution to the organization. Training and Development a human resource development activity is a closed loop process. It is vital organizational function for survival and healthy future development. It is an effort to improve efficiencies, effectiveness and quality of work life of employees at all levels. Training is one of the means to achieve improvement in motivation and productivity through effective and efficient use of leaving resources.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM:


The main aim of the research study is to analyze the effectiveness of training and development programs, and to know the awareness and opinion of the executives and employees about the training programs and to know the effective duration of training and development programs. The study examines the training programs for executives in . The study also shows the changes necessary in such training programs to improve the overall performance in terms of quality, productivity, etc. training needs at induction level is the first element in training activity. Success of the training programs depends on correct training needs. Owing to one or another, the existing competence required. The process of assessing and finding the gap between the standard competences is required and the gap may be said as his training needs.

OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY :


AEGON Religare believes in providing a work environment that fosters excellence and innovation. For this purpose, AEGON Religare has set highest challenges for itself to measure up to. It is an active, planned, continious process that forms an integral part of organization development. It seeks to impart knowledge, improve skills and reorient attitudes for individual growth and organizational effectiveness. The plans are made and that objectives specified in the plans are achieved in the time specified. To develop human resources through imparting technical / scientific and managerial training to all levels of the organization in order to provide maximum opportunity to every individual in the organization for developing the innate potential of everyone. Exploit the full potential of the human resources to meet the challenges of the industry.

METHODOLOGY OF DATA COLLECTION :


The entire study was planned with the view to collect the data and provide feedback at AEGON Religare about its employees training, development programs and usefulness of training among its executives and also its effect on the overall development of the organization. The relevant data and information for the study have been collected through primary and secondary data. A) Primary data: primary data was collected through personal interview by which the researcher will followed a systematic procedure to seek answers to set up preconceived questions. The output depends upon the ability of the interviewer and cooperation of the interviewed. Among all the methods of collections of primary data, the questionnaire methods as the most suitable for the study of the problem. The questionnaire was covering attitude towards training effectiveness of previous training programs at induction level and categories or type of training programs which employees would like to attend. B) Secondary data: secondary data is required to know the organization information about the functioning of each department in forms of company bulletins, annual reports, life insurance news, its websites, etc.

LIMITATIONS OF THE STUDY:


The major limitation of the project study is as follows: Unavailability of executives in their cabins as they were engaged in field work at that time. Availability of executive but not interested in filling the questionnaire because of heavy work load on them. Time period was short for carrying out the study. Lack of interest and enthusiastic response may have allowed biases in this report.
