Camping Out at Home
CRIL (Community Resources for Independent Living) staff will present and discuss personal and family emergency preparedness guidelines, with special emphasis for seniors and persons with disabilities, including sharing supply kit tips from an imaginative standpoint of camping out at home. FEMA mobile phone applications also demonstrated. Mmmm tasty tidbits Come taste foods that can be purchased for emergencies. Presented by CARD (Collaborating Agencies Responding to Disasters) Practice your creative thinking skills as you learn how to put together your own emergency kit with items you have around you. You will learn how to use any small item that will help you stay safe, calm and comfortable in those first moments after something happens. Learn how to use an iPad during an emergency. These devices can be used for translations, getting and receiving information. Learn how to control bleeding and make a sling using practice bandage kits. Presented by The American Red Cross.
