Word & Deed invites you to participate in our annual softball tournament th on July 28, 2012 at the CRC Rec Center, 3450 36 Ave., Grand Rapids. Join other local churches for a day of fun and fellowship with a purpose! The tournament this year will benefit the Girls Home in Tenjo, Colombia. This home is a refuge for young girls who have been abused or abandoned and who need to know the Saviors love. Coaches packets and sponsorship forms are now available from the office (usoffice@wordanddeed.org, phone: 866.391.5728) or from Karen VanderSloot, the tournament coordinator (karenjvs@hotmail.com). We look forward to seeing you there! Mission Update The translation of the Old Testament has taken great strides in the last year. A new version of translation software called Paratext was introduced a while ago which has enabled the team to finish the first draft at the end of March, rather quite a bit ahead of schedule. However there are 12 steps of procedure to follow before a Bible is printed. The first 4 steps are 75% or more complete. The fifth step is important, Hebrew Check, and still needs to be done. This step takes special expertise and efforts are made to find the right person or group for this task. Once that is complete the remaining steps can be finished at a relatively quick pace. We thank God for the progress that is made and pray that His Word will have good effect in the hearts and lives of the Achi. See the recent blog postings at http://www.frcmissions.org/ Over
