Many students complain about having to learn history. Why do we need knowledge of the past?

In Taiwans education; we have to learn all China history, which means that we have to memorize each famous wars or things in every dynasty. People wonder that why we have to learn these history. They think history is boring and have to memorize many different things in different time. It is really complicated that we dont understand how it would be happened on history. For me, I think learning history is really interesting because I love each short story in each history. Besides, student in Taiwan have to study history for their test. These tests make them dislike history. Thus, less and less student studies history for their interest but for the test. I think we could not just learn one thing in a history, because we have to understand why wars could happen, and know how to prevent wars. Here are some reasons why we have to learn history. First, we can learn new and better ways for our culture to live by studying the different ways that other cultures live. Chinese culture has at least five thousand years. As the off springs, we have to know anything about our ancestor, and history. Learning history make us know how our ancestor live and

what things they had suffered. For example, we would know how people dressed in the past and what kind of food they always ate. We should keep improve ourselves and our country instead of Second, we can learn to appreciate every person's ideas and to value our own opinions. Thus, learning things in the past is benefit for us. Third, we need to learn from our past mistakes. Every time we study history, we can see the trial and error in the past. From this, we recognize what things wouldn't work if we try it because it already failed in the past. For example, we would know how to prevent wars by understanding each war in the past, and know how to negotiate properly with other country. The last reason why we study history is because we have to preserve the events of the past. Cultures are from the history. If we didnt
