The Utilization of the Modeling and Role-Modeling theory of Erickson, Tomlin and Swaine to a Client treated with a Heart Condition. The researcher would like to use the Modeling and Role-Modeling Theory of Erickson, Tomlin and Swaine to a patient with a heart condition. In modeling, the nurse seeks to understand the world as the client views it. The science involves analysis of the available data using a previously developed theoretical knowledge base, and the art involves the empathetic understanding of the current situation in light of the clients view of the world. In role-modeling, the nurse seeks to facilitate the health of the client. The science again involves the use of previously developed knowledge, and the art is demonstrated in individualized care based on the clients worldview. (George, 2010) The researcher would like to use the theory Modeling/Rolemodeling because of its ability to enable the nurse care and nurture the client with an awareness and respect for the individual uniqueness thereby giving the point of a holistic view intended for the client. The theory correlates its being interactive, interpersonal process that nurtures strengths to enable development, release and channeling of resources for coping with ones situation in order to attain a state of perceived optimum health. The theorists define nursing as the holistic helping of the persons with their self-care activities that nurtures strengths to enable development, release and channeling of coping with ones circumstances and environment to attain a state of perceived optimum health and contentment. A client with a cardio-vascular condition requires not only the biophysical treatment based on their symptoms but would also need a holistic care which would be greatly catered by the theory. Ernestine Wiedenbachs Prescriptive Theory of Nursing to a Client with a Respiratory Condition The researcher would like to use Ernestine Wiedenbachs prescriptive theory of nursing to client having a respiratory condition. Wiedenbach indicates the nurse has a central purpose that helps direct the prescription for care within the realities of a given situation. The practice of nursing involves identifying the patients need for help, ministering the needed help, and validating that the actions were helpful. Prescriptive theory, a situation-producing theory may be described as on that conceptualizes both a desired situation and the prescription by which it is to be brought about. Thus, a prescriptive theory directs action towards an explicit goal. Nursing as a practice is goal-directed. Along with the privilege of providing professional health care services to consumers, the professional nurse has a commensurate degree of responsibility in doing actions directed towards an explicit goal. According to Ernestine Wiedenbach, nursing is nurturing and caring for someone in a motherly fashion that care is given in the immediate present and can be given by any caring person. Nursing is a helping service that is rendered with compassion, skill and understanding to those in need of care, counsel, and confidence in the area of health (George, 2008). The researcher is interested to conduct a case study on respiratory conditions using Ernestine Wiedenbachs prescriptive theory. Weidenbachs theory will serve as a key in assisting the nurse to identify the patients need for help, Implement the needed prescription inorder to achieve nurses goal/central purpose therefore rendering efficient effective care and raise the awareness of the disease.

A Care of Client with Diabetes Mellitus using Carmencita Abaquins Prepare Me Theory The researcher would like to use Abaquins Prepare Me Theory for a client treated with Diabetes Mellitus. PREPARE ME (Holistic Nursing Interventions) are the nursing interventions provided to address the multi-dimensional problems of cancer patients that can be given in any setting where patients choose to be confined. This program emphasizes a holistic approach to nursing care. PREPARE ME has the components: Presence, Reminisce Therapy, Prayer, Relaxation, Meditation, and Values Clarification. Through this, the patient develops an open mind that will facilitate acceptance of disease state or may help deepen or enhance values. The process of values clarification helps one become internally consistent by achieving closer between what we do and what we feel. The researcher would like to utilize the theory to a patient which is in contrast to the streamline of clients with cancer but to a client with Diabetes Mellitus that would have probably have a prolonged stay at the hospital and having developed a chronic condition. By modifying certain components that suits to the condition but still follow the theorys main concept, the researcher can elaborate the use of the theory which may be helpful in the future.
