God is not a factor in the experience of environment THEOLOGICAL PERSPECTIVE OF HISTORY: Gods presence is known collectively The presence of God is a factor in studying THE HISTORY OF THE CHURCH: The issue of the presence of God in whose culture and race Where is God? What is God doing? Is God the God of all without any racial considerations? Think and reflect critically and Theologically on lots of issues concerning human existence in relation to God and other creation. Using history as a tool to strengthen and edify the church. What can we learn from the past for this generation. Ex: Recovering our indigenous heritage thats being incorporated in our liturgy. Paradox ( contradictions ) Christianity in the Philippines is almost 500 years old Protestantism is more than a hundred years old in the Philippines The Christianity that came to the Philippines came mainly from the West. Western Christianity ( 1. Roman Catholic 2. Protestant ) Western Christianity always include the Reformation history History that came to the Philippines in the 16th century were in the Roman Catholic form. Conquest is driven by political, economic , religious and personal motives. 7,100 Island 2. Philippines is compose of different groups according to language ( ethno-linguestic tribe ). Filipinos before were viewed into three different groups

( 1. Negritos indigenous black skin tone ( primitive-stone age ), 2. Indonesians darker skin stone ( level of technology, they have houses and they farm ) 2. Malay brown skin tone complexion ( they are more advance in technology houses, farming, domesticating animals, earings and other decorations. ) The Negritos were outcasted by the Indonesians and they have to retreat to the mountains to the mountains. When the Malay came the Indonesians were displaced and forced into the deep forest. Migration wave theory by the early Filipino. This theory were challenge today.
