Basics for Class


Using books mini albums and/or techniques journal Dividing book up into sections - option Glue pages together using Mod Podge When using Gesso, Mod Podge and texture paste clean masks carefully and dry When using mists on masks please spray with water and blot dry Mists for class we have provided these to go the distance today so please use them as we suggest Please clean up after each technique lots of paper towel Instructions for today note pads Cover dont decide on cover until you have done all your techniques today. Watercoloured Paper Three (3) colours (red, blue and green) Spray all colours randomly over page Blot with paper towel Choose two (2) masks and repeat same spray pattern Blot again with paper towel Spray top of page with water and stand paper up to create drippage effect 8. Blot again with paper towel to dry 9. Option: Finish with background stamps in black

Calico Background

Calico Background
1. Strip calico by tearing to give worn edge effect 2. Use Mod Podge to stick to page (Landscape) overlapping each strip slightly 3. Spray each strip of calico with a different colour using Mister Hueys to create a rainbow effect

1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. This technique is to show you the different coverage you get with different textures and mediums with both spray brands. Choose a double page Apply random pieces of cardstock, calico, manila tag, water colour paper, masking tape to create a collage affect (overlap pieces) and cover whole of both pages Choose a Mister Hueys colour and spray first page You may need to blot dry but is should hold fast and only need to be dried with heat gun Ensure you cover your first page with a piece of paper towel so it is not affected by overspray Choose a Dylusions Ink Spray colour and spray second page Blot dry with paper towel Dry both pages with heat gun

Choose a Dylusions Ink Spray and a mask of your choice remembering this will be a layout background for you to complete at home Starting at the top right hand corner lay your mask down and spray generously to cover mask Move your mask to another area of the page and spray lightly this will give shading to your background Do this as many times you like but you do not want to cover the whole page

Choose an area that was sprayed generously and mask appears clearly Spray this area generously with water

Dry page with heat gun (not too close) Spray page with Mister Hueys (colours of your choice) On second page prepare your background by spraying with Mister Hueys

Using techniques learned change your piece of lovely patterned paper provided in your kit

Drippage Creates

Drippage Creates..
1. Use a piece of cardstock to fit your book page 2. Choose 3 colours of Mister Hueys 3. Spray first colour generously in one spurt to form flower head 4. Stand paper up and let drip to create stem 5. Repeat this with remaining colours to finish with 3 flowers across your page 6. You may wish to finish your flower by doodling or choose a stamp and finish with buttons in centre

Postive & Negative

1. Choose a mask or make your own mask 2. Spray with Mister Hueys 3. Remove mask and flip over onto a plain page to use the remainder of the spray that has formed on your mask this will give you the positive image (be it imperfect) 4. Please clean mask immediately & dry
