A splendid and unique land

Some people say all that matters is made by man. I cannot agree with that idea because I observe the beauty of the deep valleys covered by blankets of flowers and tall mountains, which have nothing to do with the human kind. The harmony of Romanias geographical forms represents a gift for the ones that live there and for the tourists, also. Romania has been long known as one of the most beautiful countries in Europe. Transylvania, the Carpathians Mountains and the Danube Delta are its the major natural attractions. My country comprises almost all of the natural forms combined in a harmonic and marvelous scenery. One of its most spectacular, intriguing and attractive places is the Danube Delta. This whole landscape is created by the Danube river which is one of the largest on the continent. Its springs are somewhere in Germany but its beauty becomes clear far from there, in Romania. After continuous and piercing flow through several countries, the Danube River reaches its final destination, the Romanian territory. As it approaches the Black Sea, the river divides into two skinner branches; one of them flows by itself to the Black Sea where it unloads its charge. The other one divides again in two even smaller

branches that are the most beautiful of all. A multitude of channels, small rivers and lakes supports the creation of this splendid place. Even though there are so many species of animals and birds living in the Delta, they mix in a complete and deep harmony. This place is the paradise of thousands of species of trees and plants that add the green color to its rainbow. This color diversity makes Delta look as an exotic, fairy image The Danube Delta earned its fame through its many species of birds like: ducks, gooses, silvii, muscari, pitigoi and others. Some of these colonies have their nests closer to small lakes and they create a spectacular rainbow of colorful plumage that attracts tourists from all over the world. If you walk around one of these lakes you can observe thousands of nests with small, freckled eggs or even hungry little baby-birds. One of the most interesting facts regarding the Delta is the unusual pairing of a common pelican species with a curly one. The atmosphere in this area is very calm and placid. All the feelings of anger or violence in ones soul are diminished by the beauty and splendor of the place. Watching a bird feeding its babies brings up a sentiment of love and compassion while the actions of an arrogant rooster brings laughter and makes everybody forget about their problems for a while. The numerous bird nests smartly built on the branches of the riverside coppices, the infernal bird noises, the strange atmosphere which would normally represent other geological eras, the piercing flight of the birds that are feeding their babies transforms the Danube Delta into a heaven not only of the animals and birds that are fortunate to live there but of any nature lover.
