Bengali is one of the most spoken language and ranked sixth in the world. It is the national and official language of Bangladesh, and one of the 23 official languages recognized by the Republic of India. It is the official language of the states of West Bengal and Tripura. There is about 193 million native and about 230 million total speakers of Bengali. In Bengali there are 11 vowels with 7sounds long and short. As for consonants, there are 39 characters.

We want to take Bangla to the next level on a global context and to do that we will focus mostly on our rich literary work, soulful music and spiritual folklore. So, in a nutshell, we would like to spread our language to foreign land and our rich heritage of Bangla continuously.

Target Audience: 1. Foreign Nationals 2. Tourists 3. All age group of people Tagline: Learn Bengali to enrich your soul.

Literary work: Rabindranath Tagore was a global phenomenon. Though some of the Tagore's literary works were available in English and some other languages, the authenticity of Tagore's literary works can be experienced only by studying Tagore in Bangla. There is also Kaji Nazrul Islam, Jibonando Das, Shorot Chondro and so on. Folk Song: Baul Songs of Bangladesh have recently been declared as one of the Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO. To Communicate with the in-laws Tourists will be able to talk to people in their language, thus experience up close and personal the local culture.

Spokesperson: Foreign nationals, who have grown a fascination for learning Bengali and actualy learnt Bangla will share their experience. Ji-Cheol Kim, a diploma student from South Korea at the came to our country with an aim to learn Bangla got admitted in IML just because of her devotion to Tagore. He also hope to translate some of Tagore's poems to Korean language from the original Bangla form. Affiliation with Bangla Acedemy & IML, DU.

International Mother Language Day on 21 February will be the perfect day for our launching. We will arrange events targeting the foreign nationals. Our spokespersons will share their experience. We will also launch our website : www.learningbengali.com

These days Bengalis are more influenced by the western culture and the fashion trends of the Hindi movie stars. So, we need to change our attitude or else no one will show interest for learning Bangla. This is our common responsibility as Banglai to promote Bangla in every aspect of our lives.
