Quality of Working Life refers to the quality of relationship between employees and total work environment of an organization. QWL is a collective responsibility of the management, employees, leaders of the union, Government and behavioral scientists. QWL in an Organization is a function of management practices that are valued by customers.

OBJECTIVES OF PROJECT
PRIMARY OBJECTIVES: To know the overall quality of work life in the organization and its impact on employees work culture. SECONDARY OBJECTIVES: To study the factors/determinants of Quality of work life. To examine the impact of welfare measures on Quality of work life. To measure the level of satisfaction of employees towards the quality of work life To identify the major areas of dissatisfaction if any,

SCOPE OF THE PROJECT


The following factors are the important components of QWL which define the scope of the project: Adequate and fair compensation Safe and healthy working conditions Immediate opportunity to use and develop human capacities Social integration in the work organization Constitutionalisation Work and total life space Social relevance of work life Promotion and career planning

LIMITATIONS OF PROJECT
The individual perspective appears to be different. The study was restricted to only about 30 employees. Respondents being influenced by responses of other respondents. The topic Quality of Work Life has a wider scope to be defined. Limitation in time.

ANALYSIS OF QUESTIONNAIRE
The questionnaire analysis has been carried out through tables, charts and statistical tools. The factors in the questionnaire could be divided into four main groups: i. Physical factors ii. Working Condition factors iii.Job related factors iv.Communication factors

PHYSICAL FACTORS
The physical factors are safety, medical , canteen, transport, cleanliness, ventilation and overall infrastructure.

WORKING CONDITION FACTORS


The working condition factors are work schedules, salary, fringe benefits and overall work life.

JOB RELATED FACTORS


Job related factors are Training, performance appraisal, career development, grievance redressal, work recognition, job security, job enrichment and job satisfaction.

COMMUNICATION FACTORS
The communication factors are workers involvement, co-operation, relationship with superior and colleagues.

STATISTICAL TOOLS
Chi square test used to find out significant difference between overall work life and age of employees Weighted ranking method to find out which set of factors influence the quality of work life to th maximum. Corellation to find out the relationship between experience and job satisfaction

FINDINGS OF THE PROJECT


80% of the employees are highly satisfied with the safety and medical measures. 60% of the employees are satisfied with the transport and cleanliness facilities. 50% of the employees are highly satisfied with the overall infrastructure 50% of the employees are highly satisfied and 50% of the employees are satisfied with the work schedules 56.66% of the employees are highly satisfied with the compensation/salary paid 96.67% of the employees are satisfied with the overall work life

FINDINGS OF THE PROJECT


80% of the employees are highly satisfied with the training provided 43.33% of the employees are satisfied with the job they are currently working in. 60% of the employees are highly satisfied with the career development factor. 53.33% of the employees are highly satisfied with the job security and work recognition. 80% of the employees are highly satisfied with the factor of involving workers in the management decisions 73.33% of the employees are satisfied about the relationship with colleagues.

SUGGESTIONS
Based on the analysis conducted following are the factors needed to be improved: The physical factors such as medical facilities, transport facilities and cleanliness measures could be improved by spending some capital and appointing more human resource. The working condition factor - the work schedule could be planned to be more flexible to the workers. The job related factors such as the performance appraisal and grievance redressal could be carried out through better methods and techniques. communication factors such as co-operation among departments and relationship with superiors and colleagues through quality circle meetings.

CONCLUSION
The present study is meant to detect the various activities Wheels India Ltd. currently adopting in order to improve the QWL of employees, so that corrective measures can be taken if any bottlenecks are found in the study.
