Strategic Apex

Simple structure is an organization form where the owner/manager directly meets the major decision and monitors all the activities of an organization.It involves middle specialization,low complexity and low formalization where power is centralized in the hands of the manager.This is known as Stragic Apex.This is a common type of organization structure design in most of the small business that offers-single product line in a particular geographical area.It also has flat structure with large span of control.

Strength
1.Simplicity 2.Fast and Flexible 3.Little cost to maintain 4.Accountability is clear 5. Minimum amount of goal and ambiguity

Weakness
1.Limited applicability when confronted with increase size 2.Centralization of Power

USES
It is effective in the small size organization where number of staff is very low It can be applied in a new organization It can be used in a simple organization which produces a single line product particularly in a geographical area

It is suitable for instable or hostile environment which is a threat to the organization survival and needs immediate control. It is suitable with low formalization where the executive like to hold out It is used in entrepreneur form

TECHNO STRUCTURE(Machine Bureaucracy) Line and Staff

Machine Bureaurcracy is another structure suggested by Henry Mitzerg. In this structure the employees are dominated and emphasis on standardization of products produce in massive scale. In another words organization based on this structure tries to achieve economic scales by producing qualitative products. Due to pervasive of rules and regulations managerial discrimination is low, where the focus of control is centralized, job in this structure are routinized, task are grouped in to formal department. Decision making authority is centralized and power flow on the basis of the chain of command. This structure has a shared distinction between line and staff.

In Machine Bureacracy activities such as marketing research and development,production human resource extra are typically grouped in formal units which are guided by formal executives.Thus it is similar to formal organization in a stable environment

Strength

MIDDLE LINE(Divisional Structure)

Divisional Structure is such a structure where activities of a organization is divided into various autonomous units like PRODUCTS,SERVICES and GEOGRAPHICAL area.Under this structure divisional manager are given a power to control over each division and to make decision with an effective co-ordination to central headquater.In other words divisional managers are free to direct their divisions and departments but they need to take coordination from headquarters.In this structure there is high specialization among each division and therefore each division tends to be organizing formal groups with high division of labour,high formalization and centralization of authority.

OPERATING CORE(Professional Burecracy)

The structure of an organization which is influenced and organized by the operating core is said as professional bureaucracy .Due to the exposure of knowledge organization are compled to work with employees whare specialist,professionals and well trained to do a particular job.

This promotes an organization to follow the professional burecracy In PB employees are experts that focuses on efficiency whcn can be obtained through decentralization combined with standardization.It involves social specialization rather then formal specialization where power is given to the operating core.The role of supporting staff is fully elaborated to serve operating core although there is a relatively high autonomous to employees but the structure is highly comlex and there are lot of rules and regulations.However formalization is internalized rather then imposed by the
