Currently UGC is implementing the HEQEP Project with the help of World Bank BdREN Project is the One of the HEQEP Components BdREN will be a Non-Profit Trust Organization

Initially Universities (Public & Private) and Research Institutions will be its 12/3/12 members

BdREN Achievements
ISP license from BTRC IPLC license from BTRC (TEIN3) Connected to TEIN3 with 45 Mbps Connected to Commodity Internet with 60 Mbps Associate Membership from APNIC Obtained /22 IPv4, /32 IPv6 address and AS Number from APNIC IRU (Indefeasible Right of Use) contract agreement with PGCB (Power Greed Company of Bangladesh) for BdREN backbone network Six (6) Universities already Connected Established virtual class room at two Universities 12/3/12

# # # All the six universities planned for the initial phase are now connected with UGC forming an Initial BdREN TEIN 3 connectivity have been established and is operational from 29th December, 2011. Initially 60 Mbps Commodity Internet connectivity has already been established and operational from 1st January 2012. All these initiatives have ensured teachers , students and researchers of the six biggest universities are now - under the umbrella of BdREN - have access to the International Academic Network through TEIN 3

Country Wide --Over 3,000 Km of One Pair Dark Fiber from OPGW Network of PGCB UGC/BdREN Acquired this Fiber through IRU for 20 years
