History of the company

HCL Infosystems Ltd., was founded in 1976.And it is a listed subsidiary of HCL, is an India-based hardware and systems integrator with a focus on emerging markets.
It has a presence in 170 cities and 505 points of presence reaching 4000 towns throughout India and operations in emerging markets including South Asia,

Middle East & Africa. It has a strong distribution network of 93,000 outlets in over 9,000 towns in India. Its manufacturing facilities are based in Chennai, Pondicherry and Uttarakhand. It is headquartered at Noida.

GROWTH:
1970s: Foundation of the company laid Launch of the first microcomputer-based commercial computer with a ROM. 1980s: Formation of far east computers Ltd, a pioneer in the Singapore IT market, for SI(system integration) solutions. HCL launches an aggressive advertisement campaign with the theme even a typist can operate. Designed and launched UNIX Assist customers to migrate from flat-file based system to RDBMS.

GROWTH:
1990s: Introduced new services : System integration, IT consulting, packaged support services Acquired and executed the first offshore project from IBM. Become national integration partner for SAP. Chennai and Coimbatore development facilities got ISO 9001 certification. Acquires and sets up fully owned subsidiaries in USA and UK.

2000s: Become the 1st IT company to be recommended for latest version of ISO 9001:2000. IDC rated HCL infosystems as No.1 Desktop pc company of 2001. Entered into partnership with AMD. Completed 30 years in India. 2010-5th position in India's best companies. 2012-Ranked #1 for IT services in DQ-CMR CSA 2012.
