OBJECTIVE
The basic objective of our project is to develop a

portable device for the people who suffers from speech impairment and use sign language as a mean of communication, which is understood only by a few.
Similarly it can provide an aid to patients with half of

their body paralyzed and who not are able to speak but able to move their fingers or half of their hand.

RF Receiver & Transmitter

Feature of RF Tx/Rx
The transmitter/receiver (Tx/Rx) pair operates at a

frequency of 434 MHz. An RF transmitter receives serial data and transmits it wirelessly through RF through its antenna connected at pin4. The transmission occurs at the rate of 1Kbps - 10Kbps. The transmitted data is received by an RF receiver operating at the same frequency as that of the transmitter. The RF module is often used alongwith a pair of encoder/decoder.

Operation Of Tilt Detection Module

Accelerometer in the system is used as a tilt sensor,

which detect or sense the bending or movement of hand. The accelerometer checks the tilting of the hand. The accelerometer has an analog output which varies from -1.5 volts to 3.5 volts. The output of the accelerometer is provided to the ADC in PIC microcontroller. The microcontroller checks whether the data received from the ADCs is somemeaningful data, or useless one

Contd.
The microcontroller compares the values received

from the ADCs with the predefined values, which are present in the memory of the microcontroller and on the basis of this comparison the microcontroller decides that, is the tilt a meaningful tilt. The microcontroller send eight bit binary data to the encoder ic which encode the data serially and transmit it at a frequancy 434mhz.

Operation of receiver module

The receiver , receives the transmitted single and give

it to the decoder IC (HT12D). HT12D converts the serial input into parallel outputs. The output of HT12D is given to the microcontroller. In the next step the microcontroller checks the data, which was sent by tilt detection module to the predefined values in the memory of microcontroller. The last step of the system is to give voice to the each defined gesture.

device ideally suited to a variety of electronic systems. The message duration is ranges from 26 seconds to 120 seconds. Operating voltage range from 2.4 V to 5.5 V. Recordings are stored in on-chip Flash memory cells. Audio data are stored directly in memory without digital compression through microphone. The PWM can directly drive a standard 8 speaker.

Operation Of Speech Module

This module of the system is consisted of a, Speech

recoder IC(ISD1720), amplifier circuitry and a speaker. The function of this module is to produce voice against the respective tilt. The microcontroller receives the eight bit data from the tilt detection module. Comparing this data with the predefined value. The last step of the system is to give voice to the each defined tilt.

CONCLUSION
This system is useful for dumb or paralyzed people to

express their daily requirement like food when hungry, toilet and for other needs.
The dumb people use their standard sign language

which is not easily understandable by common people and blind people cannot see their gestures.
This system converts the sign language into voice

which is easily understandable by blind and normal people.

FUTURE ENHANCEMENT
In future we can use flex sensor instead of

accelerometer. Flex sensor can be place in fingers of gloves. When user move or bend fingers, the microcontroller detect the bending of flex sensor. According to the bending resistance of flex sensor, the microcontroller give the output to the LCD DISPLAY & SPEAKER. The Robot control system to regulate machine activity at remote sensitive sites
