Alarm Muting

Step 1

Operation Check the MUTE switch on the cabinet, which shall be ON normally. Set the switch to OFF and the alarm sound stops. Check the ALC switch on SCC, which shall be ON normally. After confirming an alarm, set the switch to OFF and the alarm sound stops. If alarms are connected externally to the centralized alarming system, check if the switches and connection cables on the centralized alarm system are normal.

Cleaning Fan Filter

Step 1 2 Operation Check whether there is FAN_FAIL alarm on NM. Check the running of six fans. The six green indicators are on and the red indicator is off when the running is normal.

Step 1

Operation Draw out the air filter by the handle. Take the air filter outdoors and wash it, then mop it and have it blown to dry at a place with good ventilation.

1. Fan (6 PCS)

2. Air filter

3. Handle

After cleanup, insert the air filter back. Align the air filter to the guide rail on the lower part of the subrack, and push it in gently.

Using Orderwire Phone

Set the orderwire phone
Step 1 2
Operation Set the ring switch of telephone to ON Set the dial mode switch to T and select dual-tone dialing

Dial orderwire phone

Answer an orderwire call
Step 1 Operation Off-hook the phone, press TALK on the face and then the red indicator on upper right is on, accompanied by dialing tone. Step 1 Operation When the orderwire phone rings, with the red indicator at back flashing, it indicates there is an incoming call. Off-hook the phone, press button TALK and then the red indicator on upper right is on, and the call is through

Analyzing and Testing Optical Spectrum

Step 1 2 3 4 Operation Connect the board at MPI-S/MPI-R with a spectrum analyzer.
RUN OAU

Set the spectrum analyzer to the WDM test mode. Test the indices of each channel of signal and record the result. Compare the result with history or standard data, and then analyze the exceptional data.

Check board version

(Especially for OTU)

Before replacement

Skilled at the operation methods in General precautions. The setting of board jumpers and DIP switches; Input optical power range of optical interface board;

Detailed information can be obtained from the bar code.

Remove the optical fiber from the front panel; Width of the front panel.

During replacement

Wear an ESD wrist strap. Correctly swap the board. Avoid short-circuit of the board. Check whether the board is working normally, and upload configuration on the NM again.

Prevent eyes from being hurt by the laser.

After replacement

If you replace the SCC board, you should upload the original SCC configuration data to the NM, and then download them from the NM to the new SCC. Pay attention to NE user configuration.

For new OTU: a. The type is identical with the original one. b. The wavelength, optical module is identical with that of the original one. a. Prevent the over-high input optical power from damaging optical components. b. Keep the operating band of the new optical amplifier unit identical with that of the original one. c. Do not stare into the output optical interface, since the output optical power of OA is very high. a. Prevent the over-high input optical power from damaging optical components. b. Bit Error Test

Step 1 Operation Set the BER tester and connect it to perform the BER test. Multiple OTU (Optical Transponder Unit) boards can be cascaded for BER test. The dot line may represent multiple OTUs (including the OTU of the opposite end), or the optical path consisting of the multiplexer unit, demultiplexing unit and the amplifier unit. Start 24h BER test, the error should be 0 normally. If any bit error occurs within 24 hours, locating the fault by analyzing the B1 value of the OTU through the NM. Conduct the test again after the fault is removed.
